Gift giving etiquette?
DD (14 months) just received an invite in her cubby at daycare for a 1st birthday party. The child was in the infant room with her, but they haven't been together since. I see the mom at drop off and pickup almost every day (we're both teachers and have similar schedules). We unfortunately can't go to the party due to a prior commitment. Am I expected to give a gift still? If so, how much money would you spend? Thanks!

Gift giving etiquette?
I would still give a gift but something small and leave it in the cubby of the child. I would MAYBE spend $10-$15 on a little toy.

Same. For school friend parties I only give a gift if my children go OR if I RSVP yes and they get sick at the last minute.

This. I don't think the mom would take it the wrong way if u rsvp no ahead of time and not send a gift.
