Yeah--i always feel bad about the idea that the kid might get the present (whether for my niece, nephew, friend's kids, etc) and be excited and then there are no batteries.

so we always make sure we get some!

Always! But I don't think anything of it if they aren't attached to a gift we receive bc I usually have a supply of them around.

i try and buy the ones that include them. If im giving a gift to a charity then I definately make sure to include them... other people- may or may not

It depends on who the child is, and what the toy is. I know for myself, I prefer using the rechargeable batteries (better for the environment... Chat Icon ), so if I know that the recipients parents are the same, I won't always include them.

Not only do I buy the batteries, I put them in so the child can play with it right away. I think it's great they put those screws on the cover so the child can't get in. Seriously, when the kid is having a breakdown because they want it then. it's totally worth it to put the batteries in.
