Tooth fairy
Let me ask a question.....when one of your kids loses a tooth and a grandparent gives them money do you find it that they are over stepping their ground? My husband thinks my parents shouldn't give our kids money when they lose a tooth that the parents should only do it. I find his statement ridiculous!!!

Re: Tooth fairy
I'm confused, are your parents pretending to be the tooth fairy? Or are they giving money from themselves?

I don't think it is necessarily a "thing" now, but yes, my parents and my in-laws give my son a few dollars when he loses a tooth. Don't think it is required or even expected, just a little something nice that they like to do.

Not really a thing I don't think. My parents just love to give money. They only did it for her first tooth since it was a big deal. She put it in her piggy bank

Re: Tooth fairy
Both set of grandparents and his great-grandma gave DS money when he lost both of his baby teeth.
It was from them and not the tooth fairy (and significantly more than the tooth fairy gave!) I thought nothing of it.
The tooth fairy money was still special because it came with a letter and he found it under his pillow.
DS was thrilled with all the money (he's saving for a mansion. )
