talk ro me about transitioning from breast to bottle
i may start at 4 weeks to prepare for back to work.
what worked for you?
how much does 4 week old (and on) need per feeding?
how often did you pump?
how much did you keep in fridge vs freezer?
anything else i may need to know?

I pumped once a day while I was home with her
She always took 2.5-3 oz bottles, spaced about 2 hours apart
I would keep enough in the fridge for what I needed the following day, and everything else went in the freezer

Mine gets 3-3.5 oz every 3 hours.
I pump & it's used by the next day. My milk doesn't freeze well (learned from previous child).
In fridge, it is good for 48 hours.

DH gave DS a bottle at 2 weeks. Make sure you get a slow flow nipple. The slowest one you can find.
Early on DS would drink 2-4 ounces per feeding.
I'd keep whatever I pumped in the fridge for 3-4 days. If I didn't use it by then, I'd freeze it.
I would suggest you pump after your DC nurses in the am since your supply will be the best then. I would only pump once a day. Pumping more will create an oversupply. My sister is currently dealing with this. She has a 7 month old and still needs pump or nurse every 3 hours religiously or she's leaking.
I had a pretty big freezer supply. I wound up donating 200 ounces to someone - that was everything I froze during my maternity leave. I only started using the freezer supply when I stopped pumping when DS was 14 months old. I had enough frozen milk to last him til September (16.5 months).

What also helped us was using a pacifier and bottle that was the same nipple. For Dd, it was mam which is sold at babies r us. She didn't like that traditional round nipple.

oh wait, i need a mam pacifier then. i havent used pacifiers yet.. not sure if/when ill use them
