Transitioning from Breast to Bottle TROUBLE-HELP
So my DD is breastfed only and I have to go back to work in less than 3 weeks. She is 8 weeks old and in the beginning she used to have no trouble taking the bottle every now and again. Recently we have been trying to get her used to the bottle since i wont be here and it is a nightmare!! She screams and cries and does NOT want it. I wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same thing and have any advice. Im sooo worried that when she goes to the daycare she wont eat because she wont take the bottle..Ive been so upset over this-it breaks my heart.

Ugh my dd was a monster w/ this. Try different types of bottles. You may have to do five until you find one she will take. Go out & have someone else try. DH, grandparent, etc.. Dont be in the house. They can tell! Just keep trying. Once you get her to take it, a bottle has to be given every day for one feeding. I could never feed my dd the bottle she flat out refused. The playtex drop ins ppl say they have succes with. Good luck!

SAme over here except it was my older DS. I had to go out and buy 9-10 different types of bottles and nipples and my poor mom and DH had to try them all and even they were unsuccessful. DS finally broke down after I put him in his usual, comfortable nursing position when he was crying and I 'snuck' the bottle in his mouth....
I didn't find that I had to keep him taking only the bottle, though -- I just made sure that he took at least one bottle per day until I went back to work.
It will get better - don't beat yourself up.

Re: Transitioning from Breast to Bottle TROUBLE-HELP
This is so tough! My dd refused until she was 5 months. I think if we pushed harder, she would've taken it, but I couldn't listen to the crying. Because of this, we gave DS a bottle from day 1. I was not concerned about nipple confusion. I wasn't going to take the chance. Just this past weekend he was gving us a really hard time about the bottle. He gets at least 1 a day. He screamed and cried. Finally what helped was not holding him in the cradle position. He layed on my thighs with the boppy. He finally took it. He needs to get 2-3 bottles a day so this doesn't happen again. I love nursing him, but I can't be the only one to feed him. Tommee Tippee works for us! Good luck!

Stick with at trying at least 1 bottle a day starting ASAP. Go cold turkey at least 1 week before.
Mine did this too... and the really terrible part was, he only wanted ME to give him the bottle.
He protested... but eventually, he drank from a bottle.
