Need Help/Opinions with Kids Sleep Schedule
Please bare with me, I am going a little nutso trying to figure out how to make this work!!
DD1 is 3.5 and DD2 is 15 months, right now this is their sleep schedule
6:30 Wake up (it was about 7:00 until recently)
9:30-12:00 ish DD2 Naps
2:30/3:00 - 4:30/5:00 both DDs nap
8:30 DD2 goes to bed 9:30 DD1 goes to bed
Here is my problem-- I can never leave the house between everyones nap schedule!!! Also the afternoon nap for my DD2 is pretty late bc I try to synch it with DD1 and then she ends up going to sleep way too late. I also think that maybe DD2 is getting too much day sleep and thus waking up earlier than I would like,
I am thinking of dropping DD2;s morning nap - and having both girls nap from 1:30-3:30 (or whenever) that way they go to bed earlier and also I have the morning and late afternoon free for an activity but my problem is that younger DD still take her morning nap without a problem so I am afraid of taking it away from her. WWYD?

Re: Need Help/Opinions with Kids Sleep Schedule
These are just my opinions so take them for what they are worth..
I think breakfast is late considering when they wake up. I also think letting them nap till 4:30-5 is wayyyy too late and that's why they go to bed so late.
Here is what I would try to do..
7-7:30 breakfast 9-11 Nap ( two hours is plenty if she is taking a second nap) 12:30 Lunch ( This gives you 1.5 hours to run errands between first nap and lunch) 2-4 second nap ( again gives you 1.5 hours between lunch and second nap if you need to go out)
I wouldn't let either of them sleep past 4pm.
8-8:30 bed

I would probably try to cut out the morning nap. I think when my DD was that age she was down to 1 nap a day, mid day. That would give you the mornings to go out, as well as the late afternoons, since you could get them to both nap earlier.

DS is the same age. He was taking 2 naps until 2-3 weeks ago. Now, I've been trying to get him to take 1 nap. I usually put him down for a nap between 11:30-12. He sleeps 2-3 hours at that point. Therefore, I have time to do stuff before lunch and then again in the afternoon.

My DD is 16 mo and still takes 2 naps also, but my older DD is 5 and doesn't nap. If I were you I'd either consolidate to one long nap at the same time for both, or make the am nap at 9 and pm nap at 2. Another option is dropping the nap for your older child. That's the age my older DD stopped napping consistently bc I could not handle the late bedtime. Once we dropped the naps she slept 7-7.

Drop the younger one to one nap. Move both kids naps to mid day.
At 15 months one nap can be enough.

To be honest, I think you shouldn't let naps rule your life. If you are out and about during a nap time, maybe they will nap in the car that day... If you have your 3.5yo push through with no nap, you could prob get her to an 8pm bedtime. Your 15mo should be dropping to 1 nap soon. I would try to push out that morn nap later and later to eventually get to a 12-1 pm nap

My ds is 16 minths old and he still NEEDS 2 naps a day. I have thought about switching to one nap for the same reasons as you but I realized ds really needs the 2 naps still. Dd is 4 and doesn't nap anymore. I usually don't do anything until after ds first nap. Once he wakes up I shoot out and do whatever I need to. Ds wakes around 7am Breakfast by 9am Nap by 11am usually for about an hour and a half to two houts Lunch as soon as he wakes up 2nd nap around 330 for another hoir and a half Dinner when he wakes up Bedtime 730-8
I am wondering when he will be able to go to 1 nap. I am hoping it will be soon :)

You can make it happen. It's a transition and it can be tough for a week or so but at 16 months they can do it. My ds daycare has every kid after a year drop to one. They wouldn't do it if kids weren't able to do it. The one nap does get longer. So instead of 2 shorter naps it's one that is like 3 hrs and then gets shorter from there. But IMO it's doable.
