Just Kids - Opinions please
just wanted to see what you ladies thought....
I received a call yesturday that a new class opened and my 3.5yo can attend there 3yo program starting now - Its every day for 2.5/hrs. The class consist of hald typical children and half special needs.
I dont know what to do - My DD is watched at home with family members (who dont drive) - I would have to try and work it out at work to leave twice a day to go get her and bring her home, I would still need the people who watch her to come to the house the same times they do know because its only a couple hrs a day and i wont have time to get her to and from school and then get them.
Do i just want to September and enroll her or skip the whole pre-school thing all together and just wait for kindergaren....
Thanks,

Just Kids - Opinions please
I'm of the opinion that preschool is a great way to teach socialization and a good prep for kindergarten, so I would say if you can work out the dropping off/picking up situation then definitely go for it. I have a friend who's son goes to Just Kids and she says it is fabulous. However, preschool is definitely not a requirement, so if you feel like it just won't work logistically, wait until Sept. or maybe a summer class?
I know my friend's son gets bused to Just Kids, would that be an option?

If it is a new class and everyone will be starting fresh now, I'd say go for it, as long as you can work out the logistics. I think a half year program is more than enough time to be beneficial. Has she been in any other classes before?

I just sent you FM, but I would go for it if you can swing it schedule wise. It's such a great program they have there! And even though it's a five day program on paper, a lot of the three year olds don't come every day. Maybe you could do it 3 days a week?

Re: Just Kids - Opinions please
Kinda reminds me of what happened with my DS. I was working full time. DS was 2 and getting speech and OT once a week. He was in daycare full time and the appts for him were on days I left early so I could be there. Anyway... Around 2.5 after some evals he was accepted to go into the special needs preschool program when he would turn 3. DH and I spoke about it and decided its best for him to go so I left my job. It was a smart move for me bc my co. was going down hill. If I couldn't leave I would still send him and figure a way. I think the preschool would be great for your LO. They will teach the, everything from letters, numbers, seasons, etc to socializing and playtime. There's a lot they do in that. 2.5 hours. I also got lucky and accepted a part time job which works around my sched. Good luck!
