We are headed to the queens zoo next weekend. Besides the zoo is there anything to do in the area?

The zoo has a little amusement park right across from it that we always go to afterwards.

Re: Queens Zoo
Get there early as the lot is small and parking is horrible around there

I hope they've spruced that zoo up since the early 90's.....it used to have a half a monkey and a turtle.
Hall of science is pretty cool though!

Re: Queens Zoo
We had the best day at the zoo yesterday! It is small but ideal for little ones. It was just the right size for DD 2.5. It was not crowded at all. Almost all shaded. Lots of benches, I easily found a spot to nurse DS
There is a petting zoo as part of it, small carnival just outside ticket booth with carousel. Huge vibrant park perfect for picnic. You can bring any food/drink into the zoo no questions were asked. We just ate on a bench but for older crowd would recommend picnicking before or after in the park area.
We parked on the street and lucked out with a spot about a block away.
It's been awhile but there was mini golf in the park near the tennis center. Forest hills Is a very short drive away with shops/restaurants. In the main park area there is a boat house with bike and small boat rentals (would need to drive from zoo area).
I do reccomend going early to avoid summer traffic and get a spot (but we found street parking no issue)
Hope you have a great time. It was awesome for us!
