if you have a child under 1 that only takes one nap a day...
can you tell me their schedule?
wake time/bedtime/nap time
also meal and bottle times
I've been tweaking and re-tweaking dd's schedule and I know I have to keep going until I find what works for her, but sometimes seeing what other people do gives me ideas or helps.

if you have a child under 1 that only takes one nap a day...
DD's has been on one nap since 10 months (she's now 17 months). It took a little while to get things worked out but this is where we ended up and it's been working well.
Wake around 7:30, cup of milk
8:30 breakfast
10:30 sometimes a snack
12:00 lunch
1:00 nap
4:00 wake, sometimes a snack (she used to nurse here but we cut this feeding around 13 months)
6:00 dinner
8:00 cup of milk, then bed

Dd is 11.5 months and I've never been able to get her on a specific schedule. Lately she seems to either take two short naps about 30 min each, around 11 am and 4 pm, give or take. Or sometimes she doesn't take a nap until 1 or 2 or even later. And those days she usually naps for an hour or a little longer. I don't like when she takes naps in the late afternoon because then she stays awake later at night, but sometimes I can tell she really needs it.

i'm at a loss.
dd has never been a good napper. the majority of her naps are 30 minutes.
I posted a while back, and a lot of people were saying to bring her down to one nap a day, bc she was fighting each nap for an hour or more.
so I did, for a while, but one 30 minute nap a day was just not enough for her, and I could tell when she was tired, she'd be in a daze and just not thriving.
so I went back to 2 naps and she was fine... until she got sick. she was sick, then got better and went back to fighting naps.
I would try each nap after 3.5-4 hours of wake time. but again, she's spending 60 minutes fighting it... which then makes her 2nd nap too late, throws off her meal times etc. it's a mess.
so I was going to try one nap again for a bit and see how she does, but it's hard figuring out what time. it's not like she's going down for a few hours... I do occasionally get 1.15-1.30hr naps but she's NEVER napped longer than that.
she usually gets lunch between 12-1 and a bottle 1:30-2ish so i'm not sure if I should try putting her down after lunch and give her a bottle when she wakes, or put her down after the bottle

Have you tried to just let her fall asleep when she is really tired instead of saying ok...she is showing signs let me try and put her down?
I have never once put DS down for a nap or to bed at night. He does it himself. Some days yes he gets super cranky when he is getting ready to nap but I try and distract with play and he ends up going to sleep shortly after. Also if she wakes after 30 mins do you go right to her or do you let her CIO (or sit and play if she's not crying)? I find if my DS does wake after a short time if I just let him go her will go back to sleep when he sees I'm not coming to get him.

if she wakes up crying... I can tell whether or not she'll go back to sleep. if she stays laying down, or sits up then lays back down - i'll let her be and she will go back to sleep. equally, if she wakes happy - I let her play for 15-30min before going to her, depending on our plans etc.
she's almost 11 months old and has been a 30min napper since as long as I can remember. I have tried all the "methods" - this is who she is. it's fine.
she does well on 2 30minute naps, I just don't know why she goes through these phases of fighting it.
she will never just randomly fall asleep. she doesn't sleep in the stroller - she'll just scream bloody murder. she will only fall asleep in the car seat if she's like completely past exhaustion.
I go by how long she's been awake and how she's acting.
even when she's fighting it for the hour, I see her on the monitor rubbing her face/ear etc the entire time. it's ridic.
eta- how do you let a <1 year old put themselves to bed at night?

1:00 lunch
2:30 bottle
5:30 dinner
7:30 bottle and bed.

I let him fall asleep where he is. so no he is not putting himself int eh crib but then all I have to do is move him. When he is tired he generally will grab his blankie and curl up in the rug or couch. He has been doing this since he was 7-8 months.
Not ideal to some parents but he sleeps anywhere and through anything so it works for us.

There is a thread I posted once that showed all the places he falls asleep and he has added a few more since that thread. He was colicy as a newborn and never slept so I thought I was doomed. But once he grew out of that he became an amazing sleeper so the few bad nights I get here and there I take!!!

wow our dd's are so much alike, lol. my dd just turned 14m but still only takes either 2- 30 min naps or 1 30-40 min nap per day! its crazy, I don't know where she gets the energy lol. but she fights the naps soo bad. the other day she fought it for 1 hour and only slept 30 min, ridiculous!!
my dd also will never fall asleep in the stroller (big stroller not the snap and go). she only did once out of pure exhaustion and she cried herself to sleep of course. Same thing with the carseat....
My dd obviously can function on just a 30 min nap per day but she is a CRAB in the afternoon. I tried for an hour today and she just wouldn't nap so it got skipped. I wont let her go to sleep past 3:30-4 otherwise she will go to bed late. And I need sometime to myself here lol.
I don't know what to do, Im at my witts end!! Shes been this way for a longgg time now too. She just doesn't like to sleep!!

DD is 11.5 months and we just dropped a nap. So far it is going good but it took her a week or two to readjust. i.e. she wasn't napping that long and was also getting up early in the morning! So her old schedule she would nap at 11 but I am pushing that back to 12-1pm. Here is what we are doing…she eats lunch late but it works for now.
8:30 - up and nurse
10sih - breakfast
11 - sometimes a snack
12 - nurse
12/12:30 - nap. (this nap is usually 2 hours but sometimes shorter and sometimes longer).
2:30 - lunch
4:00 - used to nurse her but starting to drop that.
6:00 - dinner
7:45 - nurse
8 - asleep by 8/8:15.
DD was fighting her last nap of the day and bedtime so I knew it was time to drop it. She does get up early some days and sometimes needs a 2nd nap. Or some days she is yawning and tired by 11 and I have to put her down sooner. The other day she fell asleep in the car for 40 min and took a 2nd nap. However I usually try to get her to push through and distract her with a snack or take her on a walk bc if she takes the 2nd nap she goes to bed late, like after 9.

Since DS was about 4 months old he only took 1 nap a day if that. It's usually around 1-2 he will just pass out wherever and I will transfer him to the crib. He has never been a good napper and this is all that really works with us. No schedule, which drives me nuts!!

and today, after being up 3.5hrs this morning, she fell asleep in the car within minutes, not even one cry out of her. slept for 30. then was acting tired/cranky etc 3.5hrs after that, so I put her down, she went right to sleep and slept for 2 hours. she has never, in her history of life, taken a 2 hour nap.
yet yesterday she took one 30 minute nap.
what gives?! lol
and yes, our dd's sound the same. it's maddeningggggg

My dd about 90 percent of the day does not nap at 10 months If we r in the car she will
Her brother can take 3
I have up trying lol. When she is hat tires ahe will sleep i figure
