If you had a helmet for you DC, did you really keep it on the entire 23 hours/day? Did you take it off for special occasions?
I'm (possibly irrationally) upset and angry that my DC has to wear one.

Also if your child wore a helmet later on, how long did it take to correct itself?

my niece got hers at about 8 months and it was off by her 1st bday. the more he/she wears it, the shorted the time in the helmet. it sucks but its for the baby's best.

Chat Icon and yes, she wore it all the time except for baths and to clean it.

Ds wore his from 7.5 mos - 11 mos. Yes, stayed on 23 hours a day. We took off for maybe 2 hours at 1 or 2 parties and considered that his off hour & skipped bath that day. You really aren't supposed to do that though. I was angry about getting it too, but honestly the time went so fast and I am so glad we did it for DS. It was only last year and already a very distant memory.

Re: helmet questions- 8 month old

I totally understand how you feel. I went through every emotion when I found out DS needed one- guilt, anger, frustration, etc.

DS got his at about 6 months and wore it until 10 months I think. This was from November til March/April, so it included all those big holidays at the end of the year.

We did keep it on the recommended 23 hours a day. However, I do recall on Thanksgiving and Christmas taking it off for a bit extra for pics and things. It's fine for a special event or something to have it off a little extra, but I'd still leave it on the majority of the day if possible. A few hours here or there won't hurt.
