Question for former helmet moms
My DS just got his helmet off today! Yippee, totally wasn't expecting it this soon.
Anyway, my question is did any of your DC's have trouble in their crib after getting it off? I mean like banging their head? He bangs it all the time now with it on, so I'm concerned he's going to either hurt himself or not be able to sleep. I'm wondering if I should bumpers on for a few nights? But he's 9 months and can pull himself up and I'm afraid he'll try to climb out on them.
Just looking for some BTDT advice/perspective! Thanks!

Re: Question for former helmet moms
Yay!! That's great! I don't remember my son banging his head on the crib when he got his helmet off but he would bump his head on other things like the couch and toys. We thought it was because he never really knew that when you bump your head that it hurts . He quickly realized though.

Oh wow! That's great news. How long did he wear it in all? I'd love to see before and after pics if you have them.
No advice since we are still in the middle of it.
They're waking at night again and it's going to drive me insane. I really don't want to put them through CIO with helmets on.

Re: Question for former helmet moms
This was exactly us! My DS used to bang his head all the time in his crib when in his helmut. When we took it off, I did put the bumpers back in for a few nights becuse I was worried. He was 8 months and we had already dropped the crib. He adjusted extremely well, no head banging so I took the bumpers out! A month and a half later and still fine.
Congrats on your helmut graduation!

Congrats!
Owen had to get used to the fact that when he hit his head it was going to hurt. It just took a few days.

Re: Question for former helmet moms
Thanks ladies. Hopefully it won't take him too long to get the hang of it. I actually had him sleep in the helmet last night b/c we didn't want him up all night. He did well with his nap this morning so we'll see...
I don't have any before and after pics on my computer, but it's a pretty noticeable difference. Of course me being a perfectionist, I'm still critical of the shape, but everyone else says he looks great
He was in it almost 4 months. When he started they said 3-4 months, so they were exactly right!
