Another helmet question- red spots
I was told to call and make an appointment if the red spots were still "angry" after 1 1/2 hours. DS had a small spot in front of his ear starting on Friday but is much much better today. However when I took the helmet off today now he has a spot on the lower back of his head that is still red after about two hours. Would you call and have the helmet adjusted?

Definitely call! You don't want him to be uncomfortable. I remember in the beginning we had to shave down a few spots on DS' helmet, I think it's pretty common.

Re: Another helmet question- red spots
its common. my son would get rashes often from the helmet. esp in the beginning. I was advised to get a certain powder and place in helmet in that area. I got it from the ortho doc.
it was due to the rubbing and also, heat does get trapped.

This DS had a problem on one side where the fold was rubbing the bone.. not pressing just irritiating ALways take them back to orthotist. Better to be safe!

Definitely call. They can have a look and adjust the helmet if necessary. We were also given a powder to put in there everytime we took it off. It also helped his head not get so sweaty.

Definitely call. It should be a quick visit as long as there isn't a wait where you go.
