random question about clomid and missed ovulation

Hey Ladies...

So I have been taking Clomid 100mg and went this AM to the MD to see if I had ovulated b/c I never got a this month at all. Turns out, I must have ovulated b/c they no longer saw the follicles that had been there on last weeks sono. They took blood just to confirm that I had ovulated and were going to call me...

So they call me saying that there is no way I ovulated based on my blood work (progesterone was too low and what not) and that they want me to take an additional 100mg clomid for the next 5 days (cycle day 16-21).

Has anyone done this? Does anyone know the point of doing this so late in my cycle? Is it going to screw up my cycle? The office is closed now, so I cant ask any of these questions but will certainly be calling tomorrow...

I asked them where the "follicles" went and they said they could have either been "hiding" or been cysts the whole time...

I've done this- its called stair stepping in a cycle (according to my RE). If you are a slow grower, and have ovulation issues (or havent ovulated yet) they can give you a second dosage to help your lead follicle grow.

I didn't respond to the first 100mg of Clomid and my largest follicle was like 13 or 14mm, so they had me take an additional 100mg hoping those follicles would grow and sort of speed up the growth of the little ones. I do not ovulate on my own, so they knew there wasn't a chance of that happening without taking the trigger. Unfortunately 100mg was the lucky dosage for me because those large follicles did not grow, so we had to cxl that cycle and I have to take provera to start over. I responded much better to 200mg

random question about clomid and missed ovulation

I did this in November leading up to my first IUI and I developed 2 good follicles and I am now 6 months pregnant! I didn't ovulate until around CD 24.

I was really nervous about taking the second dose and I couldn't find too much information online about that, but it worked!
