random IVF and clomid question
I was reading on another forum that someone produced a ton of eggs on Clomid so they switched from an IUI cycle to IVF.
If a person tends to produce a lot on Clomid is it possible to just use the clomid and not the other injectables to get the eggs for retrieval?

random IVF and clomid question
this is highly unlikely. i dont know any RE that would do IVF with clomid alone. esp cause it has the potential to ruin your lining for transfer.
my first injectable cycle i hyperstimmed and had over 10 mature follies. we still didnt switch to IVF for various reasons. if it were me i wouldnt do IVF without a protocol that is dedicated for it, and i really really doubt any RE would purposefully do an IVF cycle with only clomid. the only exception i could conjur up would be for someone with high FSH that is a low responder to injectables...but even then they would probably be looking at only a handful of eggs. ive never heard of anyone who produced so many eggs on clomid that it was worth switching to IVF.

That is what I thought. It seemed crazy to me that she said she did IVF with just Clomid.

This happened to my friend. She was on clomid and produced about 15 follicles and they decided to do IVF. The IVF didn't work though. This was probably about 8-10 years ago, so things might have changed since then.
