How do I ween?

I nursed ds 1 for 22 months. He just stopped asking for it which was great because I tried weening so many times before since I was pregnant and had the baby and he was STILL nursing, I needed it to stop and concentrate on my newborn lol. My little guy is doing to be a yr in 3 weeks and I'm done. I've been nursing for over two and a half years. I have a condition where I need to take medication but haven't been since I've been pregnant and nursing back to back for three years and now I need me back and need to get back on my meds. How do I ween? He's already taking almond milk out of a sippy during the day but wants to nurse around 4 and right before bed. How do I cut those out?

DS is going to be 20 months this weekend and we weened him around 18.5 months. Soon after her turned 19 months he was off of BM. I am sad but also 16 weeks pregnant with DC2 so I knew it had to be done. As far as how we weened, DH put him to bed every night and got up with him if he woke in the middle of the night. Try having DH step in. Around 4:00 distract with a cup of milk and a snack in the high hair. My DS associated us sitting down in the glider together so we stopped cuddling there for a while. Now we can sit there again and read without nursing. Just try new ideas.
