I am not sure what age kids should be doing certain things by themself. But what age was your DC washing (including private areas) by themself? And do you also check to make sure your DC is clean if they do it themself? My DD gets a rash so easily, I still wash her myself and have to apply powder or cream otherwise she would get a rash if I did not. Anyone else have a DC with such sensitive skin that you need to do it for them or at least check the area after if they wash themself?

Ds is 4 and scrubs himself like he is prepping for surgery Chat Icon I help him at times bc he is still young. He also has sensitive skin, so I do all of his cream. I'll continue helping him shower for a while

Chat Icon That made me LOL.

I just wasn't sure if was babying my DD too much at 4 by still washing her myself, or what she *should* be able to do. Yet as I said, she gets rashes so easily so I have to still clean her, and apply cream or powder.

DS is 4 and is beginning to ask me to let him wash himself.
