Spinoff to bath - washing hair?
Since DS was born, we wrap him lightly in his towel, hold him in a football hold and wash his hair like that over the sink. Then we dry his hair with a towel and put him in the bathtub for his bath.
He's getting heavier and squirmier so I'm thinking to just wash his hair while he's in the baby bathtub, but I'm afraid of getting water in his ears (and eyes).
I do have this cup, but it's huge and I'm not sure it will avoid getting water in his ears...

Is he prone to ear infections, you could always get ear plugs. If not I wouldn't worry to much. Just put your hand over his forehead to prevent the water from dripping down into his eyes, then use a baby q-tip to dry his ears.

I just use a baby washcloth on his hair while he's in the sling part of the baby tub- lather up his hair and than rinse out the soap w/ the washcloth. No soap in eyes yet!

I agree, I never even thought about not getting water in their ears, I get water in my ears all the time and it's fine

i bathe in the whale tub and use "Mr. Whale" to wash his hair. i put my hand on his forehead to block his eyes. but was long as they have good ears, water in the ears is good to clean out the wax.

I have that same cup. Hoenstly we don't use it yet becasue DS is still small for it. Instead we use the Red Plastic solo cups to rinse him. We try to cover his ears but mostly worry about covering his eyes.

Ok so I've been worried for nothing! The NICU nurses told us not to get water in his ears so I've been worried about it all this time. Since he's 4 months old, I'm thinking it's ok now.

We use the red cups to rinse his body We're going to try the handheld shower attachment on the lightest/softest setting so I'm try that for his hair too.
Thanks everyone.

Re: Spinoff to bath - washing hair?
I just hold my hand over his ear and pour water over that side gently so that it goes over my hand. I use baby safe qtip and gently just try to soak up anything that is left after the bath.
I'm not worried he'll get water in his ear, when I wash his hair, I'm more worried he'll get it when he's splashing around like a seal. DS loves the water a little too much
