What happens if I get sick?

The little girl I babysit for was sick on Monday and Tuesday but was still here...

I kept voicing my concerns to her mom and her Mom kept saying that it was allergies. But by tuesday afternoon it was really bad. Her grandfather picked her up and took her to the dr and they put her on antibiotics and nebulizer treatments.

She hasn't been at my house now for 2 days --- Mom called me today and said she is still coughing like crazy and they put her on prednisone.

Now here's my problem...I feel like I am getting sick...I'm congested and feel a little wheezy in my chest.

I was sick twice during the pregnancy and my DR didn't prescribe antibiotics, told me just to do saline and basic mucinex/robitussen...he's not a fan of antibiotics while you are pregnant.

But my c-section is scheduled for Monday...what happens if I am sick? How will this impact my delivery/surgery?

I would load up on airborne ASAP (if you're comfortable taking it). I took it everyday for the past few days while dh was sick. My doc said it was no prob bc it's vitamins and whatever my body doesn't need, it will get rid of. Knock on wood, I haven't caught anything!

The only problem with that is that at my presurgical testing yesterday at the hospital they told me to stop taking my prenatal vitamins...not to take them from now until my c-section...so I'd imagine that if I can't even take my prenatals that airborne wouldn't be safe.

I think if I'm still feeling crappy in the morning I will have to call the doctor!

get that vitamin C in ya. I hope its just a passing thing and you are ok. I never had a cs but i thought they give you antibotics after so if you have something maybe that will just kick it out of you

I would call the dr asap and explain the situation. He may want you on antibiotics right away due to the c-section. Good luck. I hope you stay well!

Crashing, but call your doc and ask for an Rx ASAP. One of my best friends went to deliver her daughter while she had a chest cold and it developed into pneumonia.

i would just call your doc for sure.
alot of times they say no to prenatals bc fish oils or dha can thin blood but probably not if you took vitamin c.

if you need antibiotics now there realllllly isnt much of a risk to the baby thank god....but to ease ur mind its phone time

oh no! So hoping you don't get sick!! I agree with the other girls...give your MD a call tomorrow to explain what happened. It can't hurt.

Call your dr, vit C has blood thinning properties as well. Feel better!! I'd guzzle water, cut out sugar and just eat meat eggs, greens, seeds and nuts. Nice and boring
