obnoxious "advice" vent
if one more person tells me to sleep now because i won't get any sleep when the baby comes i'm going to punch them.
first of all, this is often (but not always) in response to me either telling them that i'm exhausted and/or having trouble sleeping. OBVIOUSLY if i could sleep now i WOULD. however my insomnia and general discomfort is coming between me and my precious zzz's.
second of all, how is sleeping NOW going to help with my exhaustion two months down the road?!

People try to be helpful, but they are annoying!
Getting to sleep has been harder for me lately too, but once I'm sleeping, I DO NOT WANT to wake up in the morning!!! Except Im forced to get up constantly to pee!

DUHHHH you "bank" it. 
I am hearing that already and I want to smack people when they say it. So what when my LO is 5 weeks old I say "Oh I have 42 hours left in my reserve sleep, so I will have an 8 hr night tonight".

sometimes i feel like when people say stuff like this it's because they want to you to know that they've been there done that more than because they genuinely want to offer advice. lol it's super annoying i have to say. just ignore them

I agree. They are truly trying to give you advice because theyve BTDT but what they dont understand is like the OP said, its not like shes not sleeping because she doesnt want too. I can understand if you were staying up until 3AM watching TV then the statement, "Get all the sleep you can now" would make absolute sense  Its funny because at only 6weeks my mom is telling me this..Im like, really?

That might have been my number #1 stupid @ss piece of advice I was given by BTDT moms when I was pregnant. Had I not been exhausted from carrying a boulder in my belly I would have muff punched them.
I get it...you have a baby and they are exhausting. But don't give a stupid analogy like "Sleep now because you'll never sleep again!" to prove to me that you know how tiring it is.
I wish the moms that say this realized how damn stupid they sound.
