Shopping Cart Covers (Vent and need Advice)

I just got home from food shopping and used my seat cover for the first time. I can honestly say I felt like the biggest spaz trying to figure out this darn thing and to boot the safety strap didn't fit through the seat back and around Ethan (even on the longest setting). I secured the strap around him without putting it through the seat back but then the whole cover shifted and he strated to topple sideways that I wound up holding him upright with one hand and pushing the cart with the other. Plus the cover leaves the corners of the cart handle exposed so what does my son do? Try to suck on the only exposed parts while totally ignoring all the bells and whistles on this thing. Does anyone have this cover (Infantino Safari) and have some user advice? Or should I ditch it (got it as a gift) and get the elastic one?

Thanks! I felt like such an inadequate mom today Chat Icon and haven't struggled so much with any of the baby gear so far.

I have the floppy seat but have not used it yet. I hope I don't have that much trouble.

I have the stretchy one that is carried by BRU. Its a pain sometimes but it covers every inch of the cart with the exception of the leg slats.

Re: Shopping Cart Covers (Vent and need Advice)

Ive tried others and the Floppy seat with the elastic is the best one IMO. The others were a PITA. EVen my first few times with the Floppy were very awkward but it gets easier. I either put my son in the back for a minute while I put it on or I bring a cart over to the car if possible and put it on first then get him out.

I have the Floppy seat also. I had one from Eddie Bauer and it didn't cover the entire cart. My son also tried to suck the exposed part like yours. That's when I got the Floppy seat and I'm so happy with it.

I bought one off ebay years ago, it was fantastic. Super big with elastic to cover even the bigger carts, like at Costco! Similar to the floppy seat, that's what I would go with.

I never use one. The kid eats dirt and sucks on his shoes. Kissing the handle of a shopping cart aint gonna kill him!

My thoughts exactly. Our grocery actually has antibacterial wipes so if I remember I just wipe it down. I can't be bothered with extra gear. i am down to traveling with a diaper, wipes and a cup.

I registered for one, but I'm thinking about returning it - I'm not sure I'm ever going to use it... What do you ladies think?

I use mine all the time.

Some carts it fits fine - others (like Costsco) it doesn't fit right.

Re: Shopping Cart Covers (Vent and need Advice)

I have one, use it and LOVE it...I am the type that has to wash my own hands after wheeling a cart so this is great even for me as it covers the handle and keeps my hands clean too..I cannot rem the exact name but think it is the origininal clean shopper one...its fabric and washable and it covers the entire area.

Re: Shopping Cart Covers (Vent and need Advice)

I have used mine for Molly for YEARS. I still use it. i love it.
I am grossed out at putting her in a grocery seat without it.
I got mine on eBay and it is so easy to use and wash.
I am actually looking at getting my double sized one since Jason will be out of the infant seat soon.

In addition to the cart cover - here's a great suggestion some lady gave me in the supermarket when I had DS in the cart and he was still nopt sitting upright. Go to the toilet paper isle first, get 2 individually wraps rolls of toilet paper and put one on each side of him/her to prop him/her up. Works great!

I have this one as well. I've found it great for shopping carts, a little bulky for high chairs.

This is the same one I have. I think it's great. It was given to me as a gift and I wasn't sure if I would use it. It's really easy to set up and take off. Highly recommend!
