anyone have a "Low Profile Boxspring mattress"

I am ordering a mattress/box spring for my 3.5 yr old DD's 1st "big girl" bed...

I saw there was an option on 1-800-Mattress.com for a:

Low Profile Boxspring mattress

External Image

never heard of this before...

It looks like half a mattress - but might be a good idea for my 3.5 yr old - lower to the ground...

but is it still comfy????

I would get a regular size mattress.. I wouldn't want something temporary or that low to the ground.. when they get older I wouldn't want to have to go out and buy another one

For DD we have a regular mattress with a low profile box spring. This way normal sheets fit on the mattress.

I did regular height for both of my kids because our comforters have bedskirts and they would drag on the floor if I got anything but standard Chat Icon

ETA I just reread it and it's for the mattress--Macys asked if I wanted it for the boxspring and I said no. Chat Icon

we have a low profile and it's great. it doesn't make the bed sit as high off the ground. we have a higher platform and a pillow top. I am not short, and I had to jump up on to our bed before we switched.

I am confused. Low profile boxspring is one thing. I have that. It's about half the height of a regular boxspring.

The picture you posted looks more like a thinner mattress. So are you asking about a low profile boxspring or is there something actually called a low profile mattress?

I was confused too..bec I assumed that the mattress would be standard and the box spring would be half size...but when I clicked on this one to add to my cart..it showed this picture....so I got nervous and just went the regular route and ordered standard everything!! HAHA!

Hopefully my DD will learn to jump down off her bed safely..HAHA! She does it with ease off my bed..SO i guess I dont have to be too concerned!

Re: anyone have a "Low Profile Boxspring mattress"

I just asked DH (he is a supervisor at their call/internet center) , low profile box is 5 1/4" tall a regular box is 9" He says it's a typo on the website. The mattress is 6". And, DH has nothing positive to say about that mattress.
