Re: How old was your baby

My dr once told me usually when the baby is about 12 lbs. I dont know how accurate that is.
That's funny you say this because Peyton is 11 lbs 11 oz. I wonder if there is truth to this theory. I'd say I'm agreeing w/your ped.

Re: How old was your baby
Mine are very sporatic. When one sleeps thru the other doesn't. Zachary started waking up alot at night for his binkie. He used to sleep thru from 8 until 6-7:00 - those days are gone. Hailey will most of the time sleep 5 hours and wake to eat. Sometimes she'll throw in a 7 hour night.

Luka is 7 weeks old and last week he started sleeping from 10/10:30 to 4/5 and then the last two nights he has been sleeping from 10/10:30 to 5:30/6. I am hoping this will stick

Re: How old was your baby
Alex started sleeping 7 to 8 hour stretches at 10 weeks. He's 12 weeks now.
He's mostly breastfed (but I pump full time, he doesn't nurse, so maybe he takes more at each feeding than he would nursing?) and he gets one bottle of formula per day, at bedtime.
ETA: He's 12 lbs 12 oz right now, so it does sound like the sleeping-through started right when he hit 12 lbs. Interesting rule of thumb!!

Re: How old was your baby
I say through the rule of thumb out the window! Gianni was 12 pounds way, way before Gabriella and she was the one that slept 6 hour stretches from practically birth. Gianni is up to 20 pounds at 7 months and sleeping 6-9 hours. He gets more Formula than Gabriella and they were both primarily BF.
It depends on the child. Like everything!

Re: How old was your baby
At 11 weeks Kevin slept thru the night which was about 11-5ish. He is a formula baby and was about 16lbs by his 3 month dr visit. He was 11lbs by 4 weeks so no - the 12lb thing was not true for him.
He did that for about 5-6 weeks and then he was an on and off again sleeper (waking up 3-10 times a night - no rhyme or reason) until about a year old and then mystically he was sleeping better than I could imagine - 9-7:30ish. But now he is teething badly and back to waking up and it is bad again. I never found it to be exhausting when he was little but now it is much harder since he is up for much longer when he wakes!!
