nada at least most of the time, we pay off the credit cards as soon as they come in. Definitely helping in the house/mortgage hunt

We worked hard to pay off student loans and credit card debt that my husband accumulated in college.

Oh, I can't wait for the day that I can hit that 0 button on these polls! Funny you would post this, I've been thinking about it for 2 days now. Last night we sad down and added up all the credit card debt that we are in! $19,000! 
We've got just over $10,000 in the savings account hoping to keep on saving to buy a house! But . . . $19,000 in credit card debt is ridiculous! Especially with the finance charges every month!
We NEED to keep at least $2,000 in the savings in order to cash our checks. So, that leaves $8,000.
We MUST pay off the PC Richards card within the year, and that is $4,000!
What Would You Do??????
We send about $650 towards the CC's every month, and about $250 twards the TV.
I think you should take 8,000 of the savings and pay off the credit cards bills. Since you are most likely paying way more in interest each month then what you make in savings on that money. So basically you are losing more money.

I posted this on that housing thread previously. It really does not make sense to have money in the bank in a savings account and pay high interest in cc debt. Like you said, you are losing money.
I think they should pay the cc that have the highest APR and then continue paying the other cc, just whatever minimum it is until they finish paying one and then two CC and so on.

I've never had any CC debt and I recently paid off DH's CC debt. However, I have about $60,000 of law school loan debt and DH has about $75,000 of debt from law school and college loans.

I have student loans and have about $14,500 left on them... I also have cc debt that i have accumulated over the years...working ot pay it down.. i make myself feel better by thinking of it like this:
if i went to law school or medical school I would have the same amount of debt (i actually have less but it is what gets me through the day)
its also hard for me to pay down my bills because i live by myself and live check to check. when i was married and split the bills it was a lot easier!!!!

We have very little left. I had a lot when we got married but DH has done a great job of getting it down.
