When we first got married, many moons ago-lol! we had no debt. Now after a house and 2 kids we have cc debt and a loc debt. I want to pay these down as soon as possible so we can start saving some money. It will take time but I know it can be done.

None. I was lucky to pay off my student loans early and DH and I are not big spenders, so we don't carry CC debt and will buy our next car in cash.

Big spenders here. Working hard this year to pay our CC debt down.
It's interesting to me that the poll seems to show a pretty strong polarity - people are either carrying no debt or a LOT of debt.

I have my undergrad debt still - it's about $6,000.....but other than that we're all paid off!!!

I think it is because most people just got married and maybe took the money they made to pay off bills. I could be wrong but that is what I am thinking. We didn't make much at our wedding (compared to some people now) and we took half to put towards a house and the other half eventually we went through paying for things that we needed for our apartment.

I also think a lot of us are young enough to still be paying off student loans which is sometimes pretty significant!

We have a pretty hefty amount of debt. We're working our way out of it though. Not on credit cards, we pay those off every month. Our debt is in school loans and we have 1 car lease and 1 car financed. We're in the over $20,000 mark.

right now about 5k - we are redoing 1 of our bathrooms and 2 of the bedrooms. Hoping it doesnt get any higher- you never know what pops up

me, myself i have more then 10k, but less then 15k. once i'm married however, i become the lovely owner of fh's 65k student loans!! hurray!!

I have none -- but I am 39, paid off student loans a long time ago.
DH just has the mortgage...about 200K at this point left on it.

Our mortgage is our largest debt. We have a car note which will be done in Oct Less than 3K in CC debt. Student loans are a whole other beast. I have from undergrad and grad. DH student loans only from law school that are more than both my degrees combined.

We have a student loan that is 20K and a CC at 0% that is 8K.
We actually have enough money to pay it all off but DH's job is up in the air right now so we're just kind of waiting to see where things go with that. The CC will be getting paid off in the next month or so because to us that is bad debt and we do not want it.
No car payments or other debt besides that.

Umm... a lot more than I really want to think about. My FH is kind of out f control with his CCs. The fact that he keeps getting laid off doesn't actually help. *sigh*
We've just gotta start paying it down

$20k in student loans (me)
We have NO credit card debt at all. I can live with the student loan debt since it was for a good cause and I still get to write off some of the interest every year.

Oh, I can't wait for the day that I can hit that 0 button on these polls! Funny you would post this, I've been thinking about it for 2 days now. Last night we sad down and added up all the credit card debt that we are in! $19,000! 
We've got just over $10,000 in the savings account hoping to keep on saving to buy a house! But . . . $19,000 in credit card debt is ridiculous! Especially with the finance charges every month!
We NEED to keep at least $2,000 in the savings in order to cash our checks. So, that leaves $8,000.
We MUST pay off the PC Richards card within the year, and that is $4,000!
What Would You Do??????
We send about $650 towards the CC's every month, and about $250 twards the TV.
