this is what bothers me about texting...
... and my overdramatic friends.
I got a text from someone "Call me! Urgent!"
I called and we discussed what was urgent and whatever... but... WHY DIDN'T SHE JUST CALL ME if it was so urgent? Why did I have to call her?
From the convo, there was nooooo reason why she needed me to call her. Stuff like this bugs me. I don't stand next to my phone or carry it around all day. If it's urgent, call me. I'm more likely to hear it ring than one little beep that says I have a text. 
Then again, she's the type of person who won't call for months and the next time she talks to you, she tells you that you never call her.

We must have the same friends  I get ones like "Need to talk. Call me ASAP." Seriously, there are two problems with this. 1) It's never anything urgents; and 2) You know I'm at work where I get awful cell phone reception and, as a result, don't check my phone very often. Why don't you just call me at my desk if it's so important?
As a complete aside, it really irks me when people refer to me typing on my blackberry as "texting." I'm sorry, but I'm not texting my BFF Rose over here. I'm actually doing work. Rant over

Totally agree!
And what about those friends who you've barely spoken to since texting became all the rage!
If you can't pick up the phone a few times a year then don't bother texting!
They're also the same friends who only email forwarded jokes and nothing more. Rggghhhh really annoys me.

OT -- EVERYONE who meets me first always asks if my DH is a lawyer. I always say, "No way! I couldn't put up with me!"

I hate texting! I have a friend who instead of calling me to talk, she text's me and its a paragraph long, I don't get it. I usually just don't respond till she calls me--lol
