This bothers me......
There is a co-worker of mine, and a friend who is PG. She is not too far behind me. She doesnt look a day PG, and she complains she is getting to fat and none of her clothes fit her. She just told me that the whole weekend she at so much her tummy hurt and she needs to go on a liquid diet??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
Every morning for breakfast she has an iced coffee from Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts and says that is her breakfast. Why did you get PG then if you are afraid to get fat? Am I overreacting or would you get mad too??

Re: This bothers me......
i dont think you are overreacting...first of all..how nutritious is STARBUCKS for the baby? its selfish of her to be so dramatic about her weight..and go on a liquid diet. some people just get so wierd when they are pregnant..
* i agree with nrthshgrl.. i def hate the changing body and i am worried about how i am going to lose the weight..but i will not diet while i am pregnant..i was on weight watchers before and LOVED it and will start ASAP after i have the baby*

Re: This bothers me......
I could care less how much weight I gain ( within reason) I gain when im pregnant but I guess I can understand someones fear of it. Ppl who worry about their weight all their lives are in for a huge surprise when they get pregnant... I feel sorry for her.. she should eat healthier and accept her weight gain.

I don't think you're overreacting but I can empathize with your friend. I had a really hard time in the beginning with the way my body was changing. I have always had body image issues. I knew my body would change but I was still very uncomfortable for a while...especially when I only looked fat, not pregnant.
I wouldn't pay her much mind...enjoy your pregnancy!

Re: This bothers me......
I have to admit that I'm much more conerned with the weight gain then I expected to be. However, I don't have coffee for breakfast- I eat plenty. But I do worry about gaining too much weight and how I will get it all off. In fairness, I think part of it for me is that I'm a dance teacher, so my body is part of my career, so it puts a little more pressure on me.

Sounds to me shes looking for attention for people to say "awww you dont look fat at all". I hate those kinds of people.

Re: This bothers me......
I've only been able to eat starchy food in this first trimester- bagels, potatoes, toast, etc. I'm worried that the baby isn't getting enough vitamins- not that the starchy food is making me fat! It's hard to watch your body change but it is MUCH harder to worry about not giving your baby the nutrients it needs....

Re: This bothers me......
That would annoy me to. But, it's her baby and herself that she is harming and if she wants to be selfish, then she will have to suffere the consequences when her baby is malnurished

Re: This bothers me......
I think everyone who gets pregnant is worried about losing their baby weight. It's just the ones that do it while they're pregnant and without a doctor's supervision that I get annoyed with.

Re: This bothers me......
I think all that negativity is certainly not fun. And going on a diet is soooo wrong and dangerous.
But I do have to admit I feel very fat and uncomfortable at only 7 weeks (probably b/c no BM in almost a week!). But I never dare complain out loud.
Plus, you have she's probably jealous that you're supposed to eat more and gain more weight!

well, the thing is I think that she sees how much I gained it scares her even more to gain weight.

Re: This bothers me......
It sounds like she might have an eating disorder - not good. Stay away from that mentality.
Everyone I know who had twins didn't have any postpartum weight loss troubles, probably b/c it's difficult to gain that much weight so rapidly. One of my My SILs was lighter than before she was PG immediately after birth!
I'm sure you're all belly!

Re: This bothers me......
I have always struggled with an eating disorder and now that I am pregnant I still struggle, but I have to put our child first. It sounds a lot easier then it is to do. I hate breakfast and I don't like to eat first thing in the morning. I have my decaf mocha and I make myself have a protein bar or some cottage cheese, but I do mean MAKE MYSELF. Maybe your friend has a similar problem and is not winning the struggle.
