Re: Heating
Gas- its cleaner, and you dont have a huge oil tank taking up space in your basement. Regarding price - some say gas is more $ now than oil, some say it isnt, so Im not sure what's right.
The house we bought has oil heat, we're probably going to switch to gas next year.

Re: Heating
Defintely gas...
No deliveries or worrying about running out and having to call to refill, etc.
Dh was nervous about gas b/c he grew up with oil...but now he says he would never buy a house with oil.

Re: Heating
Gas all the way. Much cleaner burning fuel and no running out and waiting for delivery.
My parents have oil and a tank and burner in the basement. Last month, their tank leaked into the basement. What a mess. Smelly too. Lot of $$ to replace tank and hire a clean up company.

Gas is cleaner and no more deliveries. We converted 2 years ago. Now everything runs off of it including our fireplace and BBQ, so convenient!!

We converted from oil to gas as soon as we bought our house. We also have a line running to the deck for our barbie!

Re: Heating
Jerrysgirl - Our conversion cost $6K, but we went for an upgraded burner and hot water tank, had a few radiators changed and the gas line to the deck, so I think that's the high end of what you should budget for.
