Re: Your relationship with DH since having children...

At first, it put a damper on our relationship, but once we got into a rhythm and things got a little easier, things got better.

At this point now that the kids are older and more independent and we can go out and do things more often as a family, we're even better than ever. I couldn't imagine surviving without DH...he keeps me sane and keeps me laughing and is my biggest fan/supporter. Had you asked this when DS was a toddler and DD was a newborn though, I'm sure the answer would've been completely different Chat Icon

Re: Your relationship with DH since having children...

At first it was worse. But once we fell into our own grooves with DS it made it easier to work on "us" again.

Although our relationship is really different now, I can't say its worse.

I put about the same, but it's really not. I think we argue less than before because we aren't struggling with IF at the moment. I don't think we'd ever argue if we just made more money because that's usually where our arguing stems from. We're brokeChat Icon

Re: Your relationship with DH since having children...

It def. isnt what it used to be...since it used to only be about US. DH took a bit longer then usual I guess to get used to having a baby around. He sorta wanted me to totally take care of it...he took a while to adjust. But now, he's great. We have alot of quality time together as a family...and on the weekends it's stictly just the 3 of us. I love it!

Honestly, it suucks. We're working on it constantly but it's been a struggle especially since finding out we're expecting #2. It was fine for a long time once DS was out of his newborn stage, even great actually, then sometime into DS's toddler stage it's just started to decline. Hopefully we figure it out soon. Re: Your relationship with DH since having children...

I'd say not the same and sometimes not even close. It was great when we first brought DS home and DH was off for 2 weeks, we bonded, then he went back to work and had a hard time balancing - baby and work, being a dad, a hubby, etc. - we're still working on it. But we're finally now getting our groove back a bit - and not in a dirty wayChat Icon more like we'll actually laugh together and make jokes, etc. It was rough for a bit. DS is almost 6 months.

It is no where near what it was. We are actually having a very difficult time and are close to separating if things dont get better. We havent been able to reconnect on a one-on-one basis. He is VERY addicted to his computer and fantasy sports. I'm a SAHM so "how was your day" part of the conversation is limited. Its very difficult to see why we are together a lot of the times. Its so sad because we both truly love one another but cant seem to get to a place where we get back to liking each other. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

This week? REALLY BAD
Most times? Worse, but only because we're like ships passing in the night. I hope we can find a way to reconnect.Chat Icon

This is us right now and what I was just saying to myself actually, I know we love each other so much, but I feel like most of the time we really don't like each other anymore. I know it's a phase, I know it is, but I can't figure out how to get us out of it. And days that it's better and I get uplifted, it just goes back to crap the next day.

Re: Your relationship with DH since having children...

I'd say about the same.

DS is a much more difficult baby than my DD was, and it's really taking its toll on me. I feel like I can never put him down, and my DD is at the age where she needs me, too.

I get frustrated. My DH keeps me sane by helping, by talking me through it. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him.

I hope that things will continue to get better as we fall into a routine.

Better but different. We have to work a lot harder for our personal time but we appreciate our time together more.

Re: Your relationship with DH since having children...

Not as good as it used to be. We fight a lot. I feel like we can't get back to where we were. We still love each other but the romance factor is suffering. Even when we try to have a date night, it's just different. Not sure where to go from here.

Re: Your relationship with DH since having children...

Different, but not in a bad way.

The day after DS was born we both agreed, that DS is #1 and we are #1a.

We both agree our child and future child come first, especially when they are young. As they grow and become more independent, I am sure it will change, they will always come first, but I think you have more time to spend with each other.

It's just different, sometimes better, sometimes not.

One thing about my DH is he can always make me laugh, even when we are arguing, he'll just come out with something and the heated arguement pretty much dissolves.
