Your pediatrican: private or group practice?

Just wondering what everyone has and their experience is like. I'm starting to not like this group practice thing.

Last one (In NC ) wasa group. We just saw one dr out of the group and LOVED her. This one here is private, and I think he is nuts. He is very uncertain, or gittery, or just a nut. I mean, he knows what he is doing, he is just all over. Im still undecided if Im 100% on him. We may be moving more north on the island, ifso I will find another one.

I'm in a group practice. It's kind of a waste because I really only go to one of the doctors there and she's only in on Fridays. I am comfortable with all but one of the other doctors though...

very large group. there's always someone there!

Group and I love it bc they are always available. I have my favorite, but any of them will do.

small group- only 2 docs- love them both!

Group practice and I am happy with them. My kids only see one doc. Unless they are sick and they see who's there that day.

private practice and my doc is always on call, there in no answering service, I once called at 2:30 am and he answered!!!! All phone calls on off hours gets fwded to his cell!!! I really love him!!!

group practice but there are only 3 of them. very happy there so far.

I am in a small group.. two docs... which is great only because if one if off you always have the other to rely on though ds routinely sees only one and somehow sees the other everytime he gets sick....


i hated being in a 1 doc practice for my ob since when he went to isreal for a month i was told to meet this random doc in the er.... and i find too big of a practice means no real doctor following of your lo cair... UNLESS they have a policy of you really being followed by one doctor...

Private..love her and the attention she gives DS and us as a family..she remembers everything...she's great

small group... 3 Peds and they're all terrific. Three young women in their 40's. I don't care who we get.

3 peds in the practice. 1 is DD's primary ped who we see for all well visits and shots and with whom I discuss all decision making (introducing solids when she first started, shot schedule etc). Another just seems to be the ped always in the office when DD gets sick, and the third I met in the hospital when I delivered DD and have since spoken to on the phone once, but never seem to get her for appointments.

I go to a group practice. I try to see the same one when I schedule well visits, but if it's a sick visit I take whoever they give me. There's only 1 doc in the practice that I wasn't overly fond of.

Group practice, I like that I can get in and see anyone at anytime.

Group practice and I LOVE it! They have office hours 7 days a week so if Emerson is ever sick I am seen right away. All the doctors are great! That being said, for well visits she ALWAYS sees the same one doctor which I like because he has gotten to know her very well over the past year.

Private single doctor- there are no nurses only a receptionist. I like it b.c I always only deal with the doctor. He gives all shots, answers all questions, doesn't have an answering service so you get him personally on the phone - nights and weekends (even at 3am when DD had spasmodic croup once).

Private. One Dr. One Nurse. One receptionist!
Love it!
He knows everything about DS and DD.
I'm not a fan of "groups".
My brother brings my nephew to a group and yes someone is always there, but, half the time, they don't know who they'll end up seeing.
I love that our ped. knows my kids and everything he should know about them.

Private.

And there is never a wait in his office and I always get a call back right away in an emergency.

I use a group of 4 doctors. I've been making DS's well visits with a different doctor each time. Once I meet all of them I'm going to pick one to be his primary doctor for regular appointments and he other's we'll see for sick visits. So far I like them all.

i go to a group practice but use only one dr for their well visits and other drs for sick visits.

4 or 5 Dr. 1 NP & 2 receptionists

My husband and I both work full time so having Rhys' in a group practice is great because we can always get him in to see someone. That said he have our favorites and if I was a SAHM I'd probably have preferred a smaller group.
