Your cycle after getting off BCP.

So how long did it take for your cycle to return to normal once getting off BCP? I am a little nervous because I have two weddings to attend by the end of this year (both of which I am in) and I dont want AF to show up unexpectedly.

ETA: I know that everyones body is different, Im just curious

I went off BCP in March, and have not gone back to a regular cycle. Before BCP I was on a 33 day cycle...now each month has been different from 22-35 days.

3 years isnt that long.. I was on it for 11 years....so im sure that has a lot to do with it. So you will hopefullly get back onto a cycle relatively quickly!

well... i was on bcp for about 8 years then went off them sept 08... got AF right on time as if i was still on bcp.. on oct 17, 08.. and on oct 30, 08 i got preggo!

Im hoping the same thing will happen.. i just had af aug 12. 'should' ovulate next week and am expecting af on sept 9.. but ill get a bfp! may it be as simple as it was last time

my 3 cycles getting have been 31, 26, 29

before bcp my cycle was every 28 days so i haven't been crazy off

In '05 I went off BCP b/c I wasnt "active" and I wanted to give my body a bit of a break after being on it for so many years. I remember the first 3 months were rough....meaning that the cramps, symptoms, moodiness was magnified by 100000. I also was very irregular. Then like by the 4th month I was pretty much on track, might be off by a few days or so but what sucked was AF lasted for 7 solid days & the bloating & cramps were over the top!

As soon as I came off bc it became regular!! I was really surprised. It was like clockwork every 28 days. I think the pill actually made me more regular because before I went on it I was a little more irregular (before I went on it my cycles were anywhere from 28-33 days).

i was on for about 15 years. my cycles since going off have been 28 and 27 days respectively.

my first cycle off was 39 days. today i am on CD 33 with no smiley and no sign of AF.

Never.

But then again, I was never regular before I went on BCP.

I was on BC for 11 years. I went off it in February 2008.

My first 3 cycles were 90, 87, 85 days.

After that, they basically "regulated" to switching off... 34, 59, 36, 59, 34, 56.

Then at the beginning of this year we started TTC. My first two cycles were 34 days in 2010 (so exactly 2 years off BC). My third cycle, I got PG on CD47 and got my BFP on CD62.

So, never. Sorry I'm no help. On a positive note, you can definitely still get PG even if you don't have regular cycles!

I was regular from the first cycle, but everyone is so different.
