it honestly depends.
see, the dead baby jokes are so NOT realistic, and thats why its ok to laugh at them.. they are just so stupid theyre funny. that kind of a deal.
they arent making fun of like real situations or anything like that. theyre just like the jokes that are "so dumb hteyre funny"
so like i said, depending on the joke i would know if i found it funny or not.
i cnat make syuch a generealization.
eta: ok, but i can see your point, like if i lost a baby would i laugh at a dead baby joke? maybe not. but if someone i knew did i wouldnt get all over them saying ive lost all respect for them and they need therepy and such

if you have "lost all respect" for me, then thats fine, but sad on your part. losing respect becuase you dont like someone sens eof humour or what jokes they do or dont laugh at is ridiculous.
Jess, you are entitled to your own sense of humor- but you have to acknowledge that you were insensitive to a lot of people on this board. We all say insensitive, stupid, etc... things, but we need to acknowledge when we do. Do you honestly think that not one person here has a point about how hurtful that comment can be to someone in the situation?
Personally, I never heard of dead baby jokes- and I don't laugh at dead dog jokes. Just like I don't laugh at battered women jokes. I just don't find them funny. Its a free country and we are all entitled to our own sense of humor- but we also have to be aware when we say something that is insensitive and hurtful.

Listen... just like you're entitled to your opinion- so are they. For the few people who were so upset that they said those things- what can you do? But for the rest of us on this board- I think you need to acknowledge that your statement about loving dead baby jokes was out there. That's the first step to gaining back someone's respect is to acknowledge when you do something wrong.

I'm hearing all these hurt/mad moms and mothers-to-be say how offnded they are, and I have not even heard an ounce of remorse on your part, you're just defensive!
