WWYD? (long)

I'm a regular poster in hiding. We have 1 DS and had no problems conceiving him.

DH and I started TTC in August. We had to take September off because I came down with pneumonia around mid-cycle. Assuming we're not successful this month, I have a dilemma about TTC next month. If we were lucky enough to conceive next month, my EDD would be mid-August. My 1st cousin is getting married in mid-August. They already asked DS to be the ring bearer. This is an out of state wedding 4-5 hours away where we would have to stay over for 2 nights.

Part of me says I can't plan my life around 1 event. I'm in my 30s and we hope to have 2 more children. I was upset about having to take September off and I really don't want to take another month or two off. Plus, while we used to see more of each other growing up, this is a cousin who I see maybe twice per year.

At the same time, I would feel bad if I ended up getting pregnant and had to miss the wedding. I'd be due right around the wedding and would likely be recovering from a c-section. My family makes it a priority to be at each other's important events. For example, my uncle came up through a snow storm in order to attend DS's bris. That family also drove 4 hours each way to come to all of my wedding related events. I already have 1 strike against me for not attending the engagement party last year.

So, WWYD? Would you skip next month and possibly the month after to make sure you could attend the wedding?

I was thinking the same way when we first started TTC. But now 7 months later I am so happy I didn't put it off for anything. I would try and if you get pregnant I am sure they would understand. And if you don't at least you wouldn't have wasted one or 2 months.

Don't miss the month...I personally think I'd regret not trying. You can't always plan around future events. I think IF it happened, and you missed the wedding, you have a pretty good reason! Your adding to your family :)

normally i say do not plan around life..

but this sound slike something u really want to do,esp bc your child is the rb

i know peple can have secondary infertility but i would say put off the one month just to ease your mind

but just wanna make sure u will still wanna do all this at 8 months pregnant lol

i would base it all on if u were lucky enough to get pregnant right away and could not go how upset would you be

and also if u waited a month and then happen to go a few weeks early that would cause they same issue

I wouldn't skip this month. If your cousin really cares about you, she will understand if you have to miss her wedding.

I wouldn't skip this month...i'd rather have a child than go to a family wedding..even though it's important to you, i think a child is more important.

I come from a close knit family too so I can understand your dilemma, but I wouldnt wait.
you never know what life is going to have in store for you so give it a shot and if its meant to be this month it will be and if not it will be the next month or the following.

I wouldn't wait -- no 100% guarenttee that you will get preggo that month -- but you also don't want to put it off -- I think expaning your famiy is important and your family will understand if you do get pregnant and can't attend

Thanks ladies. I had already put off TTC for other legitimate reasons and didn't really want to put things on hold again for another month or two.

If it were me I wouldn't wait....my entire life I've planned around other people and it got me nowhere. If u have no problems getting pg then I would've said wait. I tried waiting in the beginning bc of my new job to have a summer baby and I regret it now bc I didn't know it was going to be this hard for me

i wouldnt wait. take the chance and see what happens and take it from there.
