WWYD?

So I had my first OB appt last week at 6 weeks and 5 days. They did a ultrasound and saw the heartbeat which was 117. My doctor wanted to see me in amonth but I "convinced her to let me come back in two weeks for another ultrasound. I asked for this because I was concerned that the HB was on the lower end of normal.

DH calls the appt next week my "crazy appointment" LOL and he's right. My mom also thinks I'm nuts. Would you cancel the us and wait until the next time you see the doctor or would you go since the appt was already made and your doctor approved it, even though she felt it was unneccessary?

Re: WWYD?

I think that heart rate sounds perfectly fine. With my DS, at 6w2d, his heart rate was 108. Their hearts only start beating around 6 weeks, so it is not as fast right away.

I would cancel personally.

This. There have been a lot of times where I thought I was being crazy. But honestly, it always put my mind at ease, and I think thats important. So I think you should keep your appointment Chat Icon

I'd go, and probably never pass up a chance for a sono.

I'm paranoid, though.Chat Icon

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Sounds like a normal HB for that visit. But, if you have the appt, I would not bother cancelling! Chat Icon

If it gives you peace of mind, and your doctor was ok with scheduling - I would go.

It's very difficult to be the one to carry the pregnancy, and you need to do what you need to do to help yourself deal with it. I wouldn't listen to your mom, DH, etc.

I mean, if you are trying to go every 2 weeks for the entire time, then you might need an intervention, but early on, I understand the anxiety.

I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

I would go. I try to get as many sono's as possible. It's always nice to have peace of mind and to hear the heartbeat again!

I am definitely for peace of mind and however you can get that you should. I noticed though that I kept saying things would give me peace of mind and they didn't - I would just worry about they next thing. So I chose to back off the unnecessary stuff because it wasn't helping anyway, and I feel a lot more relaxed.
