Would you ever return something at the supermarket?

Just looked at my receipt and realized I spent $12 on a package of raspberries I though was less than half the price. If I was more motivated I might return it but I know most likely I won't. Just curious if people do that with food or if I'm nuts to even consider it?

people do it all the time. I have returned a few packs of cookies because they were expiring a few days after I bought them. Normally that wouldnt bother me but they were going in welcome boxes for my wedding.

A pack of berries were moldy and DH wanted to return them (we live across the street from Fairway) but I told him its not worth the trip haha

ALWAYS check expiration dates! This past Christmas, ricotta was on sale. I was at the market 12/22 and noticed they were all expiring on 12/24! They guy stocking the shelves said not to blame him. I asked him if he has fresher ones. He said he does in the back but I have to come back tomorrow because management wasnt allowing him to put those out yet. I gave him the look of death. He got up asked me how many I wanted and gave me a few new ones.

I have but most of the time I don't bother or I forget. I try to look at my receipt before I leave the store so if there are any mistakes I can fix it when I am there or return it if it isn't the price I think it is.

I worked in a supermarket for many years before I got my full time job people return things all the time.

I do all the time especially if the food goes bad within a day or two or me buying it. I go to the gym right next to the grocery store so I am near it every day.

Funny you should post this

I literally just came back from my lunch break. Went to the supermarket and bought a box of cookies.

Took a bite and almost broke my tooth.

Going right back.

If I was charged incorrectly (as I assume was the issue with the $12 berries) I would request a refund but aside from that, no, I would not. I check dates before I buy anything. If it expires too soon I don't buy it.

I guess maybe if I bought an expensive piece of meat and it was bad once I opened it I'd go back but certainly not for something that cost a few dollars.

What kinds of things do you specifically have an issue with? That's where I shop but I've never had an issue with expired foods.

Yes. Most times I forget but have if I was heading back to the store. I now do peapod so I definitely return if something is not right.
