NO. NY has been know to be infested with bedbugs. They definately inbed themselves in couches. That's one way of inviting them in your house and I heard that they are difficult to get rid of.

Nope. Unless I knew the people selling it very well. I would be too concerned about bedbugs or other pests coming with the couch. I would rather buy one at IKEA or someplace inexpensive for the time being.

Never buy used furniture. You can get bed bugs which will spread throughout your house. I had bed bugs and had to get rid of all of my furniture, couches, loveseat, tables, chairs, bed, dresser and end tables. The furniture was disposed of properly.
DO NOT BUY USED FURNITURE
ETS: all my furniture was brand new, I did not buy used, but I saw this post and felt the need to warn anyone.

I am seriously considering this. They weren't cheap couches either which is why my DH, who isn't bothered by the pilling, would be annoyed. And truthfully, I don't want to spend another $1000 or more. We took the extended warranty which, no lie, covers just about everything except pilling. Never never buy anything chenille, esp a couch!!!

My Mom has a beautiful antique couch that was given to her by my SIL. It was her Aunt's and lord knows where she got it from. It is so gorgeous, in beautiful condition and just impossible to find nowadays--especially for free! I take naps on it all the time and not skeeved in the least.
