Would you be offended...?
You're sick, and you're using someone's computer and before they get back on it, they lysol wipe the keyboard.
Is this offensive, or just a normal step to prevent getting sick.
ETA: I was the wiper, not the wipee, for reasons you'll see below I am really paranoid about getting sick!

My mom is not talking to because I did that. She was coming down with a week ago and I was asking her to wipe things off and stuff and she said "I wash my hands!" lo and behold, now I'm sick too, but I've been doing Zicam, Airborne and Sinus rinses all week to prevent getting full blown sick. Now she's coughing all over the place and she was using my laptop and I had to get on to help her, so I wiped it off, since i'm going to great lengths to not get sick because I am prone so severe sinus infections and even pneumonia if it gets bad. So now she's so offended and angry about what I think it's a pretty normal thing.

Not offended at all. Actually I am happy when people remind me that they are sick before I touch their stuff. My boss wouldn't let me use the phone in his office the other day because he was sick, I was not offended!!

I would be so happy if Typhoid Mary would lysol and disenfect anything she touched that I use! SHe is only there to help 10 hours a week but ALWAYS has a cold
I usually bust the cleaner out after she is done violating my space

totally not offended at all.
If it were me being the sick person I would use purell on my hands prior to touching the keyboard myself (and I always do this even when not sick as I share a certain computer with 8 other people at times, in my jobplace). But if someone wanted to lysol it down, I know it's so they don't want to get sick themselves.

I do the same thing at work. I don't care if someone is offended. I don't want to get sick.
Whoever is sick should totally understand and actually offer to Lysol the keyboard/telephone, etc...

I dont know how old your mom is, but I do know that people of a certain generation do not get the idea of "universal precautions." They do not worry about the same things that we do.
