Would this scare you? (Warning, spider photo) Confirmation from spider expert: NOT WOLF SPIDER!
I am talking about the wood floors being all scratched up.
Meet reason #1 I hate the Spring. #2 is allergies.
_------------------------------------------ ETA: My brother (who has his own bug laboratory) just confirmed it is a baby wolf spider. I have always called them wolf spiders. This one is only about 2 inches long. The adults are bigger and much more muscular. They are freaky.
We had two full adults come out 2 years ago and I thought DH and I would have a heart attack. We sucked them up, but they stayed in the vacuum tube. Once we took the tubes apart to put the vacuum away, they just plopped out and crawled away. The first one actually entailed one of my most infamous Kelly stories on LIF. Only thing I have found to kill them is the spider spray. Copious amounts of spider spray. And it takes hours for them to die. This reminds me is that I need to stock up again.
----------------------------------------------------- ETA: I completely apologize for scaring people. I also apologize for not responding to those who asked for me to put up a warning. I headed to work and I don't get online there. It was not my intent to ignore you.
My brother only looked at a thumbnail picture and quickly identified it as a baby Wolf. He then clicked it and noticed immediately he was wrong. He defaulted to his friend: The Spider guy. My brother deals with the 6 legged bugs. Here is what the spider guy said:
"The photo is not of a wolf spider. It is rather dark, and I can’t tell much detail. However, it appears to be an adult male from what I can see. My guess is that it might be in the family Amaurobiidae, which make sticky sheet webs with silk like Velcro. These are sometimes found around houses in yards, but not inside, like the genus Tegenaria of the related family Agelenidae. This one doesn’t have long enough legs to be a Tegenaria. This one seems relatively stocky, which also makes me think it’s an amaurobiid. About all I can tell you about it without having the specimen in hand. It’s not dangerous to people."
SO there you have it. This one has grown as large as it will. Which means we have these AND wolf spiders.

He is in the vacuum as we speak.
But we get hundreds of these at this time of year. They are starting to get bigger now, so I assume they are babies. You should see the size of the full grown ones. Vacuum can't get them.

Re: Would this scare you?
Scary!!!! I hate spiders and when I lived in NY I thought they were the worst of all bugs but then I moved to Florida. Unreal the bugs that are down here.
Palmetto bugs are the worst they are like huge roaches and they fly!
