I have two. they go with all, no matter what season, look nice and my DD will have the pleasure of using these bags down the rd and it will still be in style!
My SIL is using her MIl's LV from back in the day and its a classic bag for sure.
Exactly.. I love mine and quite honestly, I have several other bags but they haven't held up as nicely as this one..
I ain't gonna lie.. if I had the money to drop on any bag right now, I'd be rockin a birkin, but that ain't happening for a long time so I'll stick with what I have and and what is timeless and has lasted me nicely all these years..

I buy them for several reasons. a.) I like the look of most of them; b.) Quality is great...last for years and I abuse my bags/use them regularly. They have held up better than my other high end bags; c.) Never out of style; d.) Perfect for any time of the year, e.) My little girls (hopefully I will have at least one  ) can rock them when old enough.

I would never buy a fake anything.. Like I said, I rock bags that are cheapie like from Target or even antiques from thrift stores I've come across.. I'm more of buying stuff I like and can afford..

Then you must not have run across many shallow people in your life. People do it all the time, with cars, bags, watches, etc. Some can afford to., but some have credit card debt up to their eyeballs. Some people like things tht happen to be expensive, or trendy while some people like things BECAUSE they are expensive or trendy.
I don't dislike LV bags because they are trendy or because they are expensive, I dislike them (the popular logo ones) because they are a very strange greenish brown shade, that I don't find appealing at all.
I also don't see them as timeless, because I associate them with being extremely trendy in the early 2000s.

Who said that? I know people who are shallow but in all honesty I don't have time to worry about how people are spending their money and why....I don't care whether or not they can afford to or not it is just none of my business. I am not the one who are paying their bills.

I have had some of those bags for many years and have abused them and they still have held up wonderfully.
I am not saying everyone buys for shallow purposes but that some do.
I mean at one point I walked into a party and there were 10 matching speedy bags lined up. It was like you had to have one to fit in LOL. It was then that I vowed never to get the speedy in the classic pattern HAHA.
And I don't buy fakes either because I purchase them for quality not just to show off my name brand bag.

I bought the LV just simply because I wanted it and I love the gucci bag but I had to bring it back to Saks 2x now to be repaired. So its true the LV do last the test of time and they are also classic. Another point I want to make is that for example...instead of spending $300 every season on the most popular hand bag I see everywhere..I spend $$ on an LV and it last me 5 years+. Not a status thing to me its more of an investment. I am also lazy and forgetful so I cannot change my handbags constantly too.

Really, I walked into a pampered chef party and all the ladies had their bags to one side of the counter. It really wasn't that hard to notice. I remember them all trying to figure out which one was theirs.
I don't know many people that change into cluch bags to hang at someone's house.
Good god what is the problem here?

I don't like them. I actually gave mine away to a relative because I haven't used it in over 10 years. I just think they look too common and I do not care for logos.
I am surprised that people seem surprised that people wear stuff as status symbols. I feel like half the people I see cannot afford the stuff they have - so clearly there is a reason why those people go into debt etc. to buy this stuff. However, I feel that LVs have become so ubiquitous that it is no longer a status symbol.
Only X percent of the population make over $300K yet I feel like 75% of the LI population have luxury items - I feel like the math is pretty easdy that there is a lot of debt floating around just for appearances.

I guess my experience has been different bc my LV bag has really fallen apart after only a few uses....I am extremely unhappy with the quality.

nope, not alone, I feel the same, I used to have one and gave it to my sister overseas 3 years ago, I just couldn't stand carrying the same bag (fake or real) as half of NYC. Plus I have never really liked the whole logo look, I don't like anything with logos on it, the only reason I got that bag was bc I got a great deal since my best friend used to work for LV.

I can't stand the whole "I must own designer handbag/clothes " mentality, boggles my mind. I know so many girls who will save $ all year long just to buy an LV or any other "high end" designer handbag, shoes..... Sure I like nice things , but I would not spend money on something I can't really afford.
But that's just me

love LV, love the simplicity of them. i am not a fru fru bag kind of girl and there arent that many simple lines out there that are high quality and will last for YEARS! they are also extremely versatile with change of season.
they can also take a beating (which is great with kids).
i have 2 and if I can afford it, i hope to have more in the future. i dont care what other people think of them or what they think of me for carrying them.
