Why are MILs sooo UGHH!! Totally Stupid Vent
My sister would do that. Last year she got dd and my nephew the same thing which wouldn't be bad but they had no clue what the toys were. My SIL and I both make Amazon lists but my sister likes to deviate. Sometimes it's a hit. Other times I just shake my head.

I agree this is so weird and I would roll my eyes too. Hopefully your older daughter will get some toys from your siblings or other relatives who are there so she has something to open up and play with. You can't exactly play with a dvd.

I don't personally see any issue. Is your DD really going to be watching everything everyone else around her opens and get bothered by it? I don't know what Christmas is like at your house but my kids get so many different things from so many different people, they don't know what is from who, especially at 3 years old. We tell our families to put money in their college funds and limit the crap that is going to get tossed aside after 10 minutes of play. I actually request Blue Rays from my mom since (hopefully) they'll get some use out of them.
