When the doctor tells you to go to the hospital bc your in labor, do you go to the emergency room?

did you go on a hospital tour? They usually tell you where to go when you are coming to have the baby. However, I would just go to the main entrance and ask them to point you in the direction of labor and delivery

No, I didnt go on the hospital tour yet, I'm gonna be delivering at Good Sam. I'm only 17 weeks, I'm assuming a tour would be good around 30 weeks or so?

we did for our hospital but they got me a wheelchair right away and wheeled me directly up to labor and delivery

I delivered at NSUH - I went straight to Labor and Delivery. Then again, I was pretty far along and couldn't even walk and was escorted in a wheel chair

you go to Labor and Delivery. IMO I would go to the main lobby over the ER b/c that way you skip the ER triage.

I delivered twice at Winthrop. If it was after 10pm the nI was I was to go to the ER if it was durning the day we were to walk through the front and then to L&D.

I delivered DD#1 at Good Sam last year and DD#2 will be born there this Dec. as well. When you are in labor you go to Labor and Delivery. If it is after hours and the front doors to the hospital are closed, there is a special doorbell for maternity patients (I kid you not) and you are buzzed in so you can take the elevator to L&D.
