Whom do you write the check for a First Communion gift?
We're going to a 1st Communion party this weekend for DH's cousin...we are giving her a check instead of a savings bond, but to whom do we write the check to? The child or her parents?

I always write mine out to the child. The parents can still sign for the child if they do not have their own account yet.

The child. I do this for Baptisms, too. The parent can endorse the check for the minor child (even if the child doesn't have his or her own account).
