Just Dh and I. We live in an apartment in my parents house but it's completely seperate. They'll be around should we need something but I think we'll try to spend the first few days just us getting used to everything.
Same exact situation here. I'm sure my mom will help out with dinners, but I'd like it to be me and DH and baby.

I was so sad that I would be going home and since my parents live with us, they would be there too. I really wanted it to be about me and DH.
But you know what? We were both SO SO SO tired. My mom took one look at us, took the baby, and told us both to shower and take a nap. A few hours later we went back downstairs and felt like we could really handle everything at that point!
So if you have the help, its nice. And if you dont, you will be okay too!

When we had DD, my mom was at our house when we got home. My in-laws stopped by later that night. For the first 2 weeks I pretty much had someone come over everyday since DH went right back to work. I definitely needed and appreciated the help! My mom & MIL cooked, cleaned, did laundry - it was really great. I am sure that it will be the same way this time around.

The day we come home, im sure our house will have 50 people in it.
MIL will be staying with us for the first few weeks. I didn't have much say in that one. I am really appreciative of the help, but I am looking forward to it being just DH, me, the babies and our dog.

just the baby nurse, she will actually already be in the apt to meet us when we get home. Im sure the grandparents will want to come over but Im thinking they can come over the next day so we can settle in.

I'm hoping to have it be just DH,  and I. I want to give ourselves a little time to adjust to our new family. Dh's parents both live out of state and I'm sure will want to come down for the birth, but DH and I have already discussed it and if they want to come down they are going to have to stay at a hotel. We don't want to be worrying about house guests at that time. If I really need help, my mom lives around the corner from us and will come over.

My mom will be there to help out initially.. as much as I am a do-it-all myself type of person... I think having my mom there will very helpful. Just to hand the baby over to someone who can actually help will be big.. I'll probably be sore, tired and maybe even cranky..

Just DH and our daughter (#1). I didn't have help with her...and am not expecting/needing it with #2. It sounds cliche, but you will manage and before you know it, will have your own routine. DH's first diaper change was in the hospital with DD#1 - he was a pro in no time ;-(

My parents, inlaws, brother and sil will probably all alternate to come help us (and keep us company).
I don't think anyone will sleep over (although I might ask my mom the first night or two) but as long as they can come over and be there with us even if it's during the day that would be great.

We would like it to be just us the first day. I want to get adjusted to the baby first and I really want to enjoy the baby in the comfort of my home without having to share him or her right away.
Some of our family is out of state but if they visit us for the birth they are not staying in our house, they'll have to stay in a hotel. I'll let my husband break that news to them
