tile. we had wood in the kitchen installed by the previous owners, that was all warped.

I prefer wood...however I've heard a lot of mixed opinions on it (as far as warping due to water damage, etc). I also really love slate.

We are moving our Kitchen location to our Living room and it already has the Hardwood floors there.
So our kitchen will have hardwood floors.

I would use ceramic tile. Wood is beautiful, but you can't get it very wet. There are fake woods (which is what the previous owners put in our kitchen), but it doesn't look good IMO.

wood simply isn't practical..... I've had spills, refrigerator leaks, dishwasher leaks..... any one of those would be fatal to a wood floor....
Since I dislike linoleum (even though it's softer underfoot), it's tile all the way for me....

ceramic tile. whatever you spill on it won't stain providing you pick it up quickly.

Hard wood floors.
Tile is nice but here are my reasons for disliking it...
I find it to be delicate. We had it in our last apartment and if something fell on it, I noticed the tile would crack or whatever fell on it would break.
I also found it difficult to get it clean, it seemed to stain easily.
It gets very slippery when wet.
Lastly, it's very cold in the winter unless you have radiant heating.

I prefer tile, marble, travertine etc. any stone.
I do like wood as well but only with the right color cabinets like white/cream. A wood cabinet to close to the wood floor color clashes to me.

Hardwood! We just redid ours, and we love the look. As for the water problem, hopefully we never have the problem.

I agree. I have hardwood floor in my kitcehen and LOVE it, but I drop a lot of things and it has so many chips and dents in it.
I like tile better .

Agreed. We went with porcelain tiles vs. wood for this reason. But I do love the look of wood floors though!
