I originally had mine scheduled for a Sunday and then changed it to Saturday afternoon so my out of town guests would have a better chance to get there. I didn't want them to be rushing home on Sunday evening. I got a better reply for Saturday then I did for Sunday.

I think it depends on your guests. I had some friends and family coming in from out of town so we did a Saturday afternoon. I also wanted Sunday to look at things again and start organizing.

I had mine on a Sat...I felt it would be better than having people give up their Sun and have to work the next day.

i always prefer sundays for showers. saturday is family day for us. i had my baby shower on a sunday...but you already know that 
if your guests are mostly local, it shouldn't matter since it's not like it's 8pm when they're leaving. if most of your guests are out of state, you need to consider that.

I wanted mine on a Saturday afternoon for 2 reasons:
1) OOT guests having more time to travel in & out without taking off from work
2) I work on Monday's, so I wanted time the next day to go through stuff & organize

I had mine when I was pg with my DS on a Sunday. Many of my cousins have children that are involved in sports and Saturday is a BIG day for kids sporting events!

I think we are having mine on a Sunday. Only because it's the only date that really works and we don't have any OOT guests. I don't think it really matters though

As a guest, I prefer having them on Sundays but, since I have a lot of out of town guests, I will probably have mine on a Saturday.

I prefer Saturdays, and Sundays with DH's family are always an issue due to church with his grandma.
