Where do you keep your shoes??

Especially if your bedrooms are on the second floor?

Currently I have some upstairs, some in our 4th bedroom closet and some in our coat closet.

We are losing our coat closet because we need to make our 4th bedroom bigger for our 3rd child coming in March.

Trying to figure out where to keep our every day shoes?

Kids bedrooms are on the main floor. Do you keep your kids shoes in their rooms?

We are a 'no shoes in the house' family, so we keep all our shoes in the foyer. I bought a shoe rack years ago, and built another one for DC recently.

Boots are kept in the front hall closet. I have a bench with bins from crate and barrel that we put all of our regularly worn season appropriate shoes into. For non season appropriate shoes I have collapsible shoe racks in the bedroom closets.

When it snows or rains the boots are kept behind the front door next to the wall so they can air out/dry out. I put them away if we are having company, otherwise they just sit there.

in our bedroom closet. i never understood why shoes would be anywhere else, guess thats just how i was raised..

Ideally, they go in the office closet (which is technically the second bedroom, but we don't use it as a bedroom). That's where I keep most of my formal dresses too.

Realistically? There's usually one half of a pair in the bedroom and the other half in the dining room or something.

I keep most of my shoes in my bedroom closet. Dressy shoes in the spare bedroom closet.

When I come home from work, I take them off and put them on the slate slab that my wood burning stove sits on. From there, when I go up to bed, I bring them with me and put them back into the closet.

If I just go inside and plop down on the couch, I kick them off and where ever they land, is where they stay until I go up to bed.

All of my shoes except a pair of flip flops or slippers are in my closet in my bedroom. The flip flops or slippers are either on my feet because I rarely walk around barefoot or in a boot tray near the back door. I also have at least one pair of shoes outside my backdoor in a deck box that I change into when I go out to take care of my animals. I rarely wear real shoes in the house, if I'm working with patients I come home and immediately shower and change, if I'm consulting I still change the minute I get home.
DH has his dress shoes in his closet and all of his other shoes either around the house if I haven't nagged him to put them away or under the stairs by our front door. We don't have a coat closet either so we created a storage area under the stairs for shoes.
When my kids are home( they are adults) they are each allowed to have one pair either by the back door or under stairs, everything else needs to go in their rooms.

I keep my shoes (that are in season) in my bedroom closet, DH keeps his in his closet, and my DS keeps his shoes in his room, too.

I have a lot of shoes, so I keep my "off season" shoes (e.g., boots in the summer) in a cedar-lined closet we have in the basement where we store out of season clothes, too.

My DH bought a closet organizer system for my small walk in closet last year, and it included cubbies for shoes, which helps organize them, but I still have more than fit in there and they wind up jumbled at the bottom of the closet. I've seen great ideas on Pinterest... like bookcases/shelving units with individual squares for each pair of shoes. I think it would be great to have something like that in the bedroom if I had the space.

I keep mine in my closet on shoe racks. My wife keeps hers in the shoe closet of course!
I swear if we ever sell the house people are going to think its either the best or stupidest thing ever

Mostly in our spare bedroom.

This is also my space where I store a lot of my extra clothing, where I go with my laptop, etc.

DH keeps his in the garage which is his mancave/bonus room.

both mine and dh's shoes go in the bedroom closet

occasionally he'll leave his shoes from outside in the kitchen by the back door, and it drives me crazy

We are also a shoes off household. The shoes we wear on a daily basis are kept in a basket by the backdoor (we rarely use our front door). I would love to find a better storage option, but the space is odd. We also have a few shoes in the closet by the front door. Shoes that aren't worn on a regular basis are in plastic bins in our closet/ under the bed.

We are a shoes-free home. Our 'everyday' shoes are usually in the garage (with the mouse ), then we have some in a closet in the finished basement, some in the coat closet by the front door and more in our bedroom closets. As long as they're away we're happy.

We take our shoes off so the ones we are wearing that day are by the front door.

DH and I have separate closets (we have no kids). His all fit in his closet. I switch mine out by season. The shoes for the applicable season are in my closet on the floor, and the ones not being used are in bedroom closets in other rooms. lol There are usually 1-2 pairs sitting on a door mat in the kitchen, but otherwise they're kept in the bedroom closets.

We have a shoe cabinet for mine and a shoe bench for dh in the foyer. Both are from Ikea. I have a few more that are in my br closet hut I'm not crazy about that. We are a shoes off hh.
