Re: where do you
Posted by SweetestOfPeas What I find pricey at S&S is the produce.
I know but they always seem to have better produce than my local Waldbaum's.

ok I always though stop and shop was cheaper- maybe I am wrong- I might have to switch to walbumns
I went there 2 weeks ago- spent $88 everything I needed was on sale- ( walbumns that is)
where is Best Yet? here are the reasons why I do like Stop & Shop:
*it's walking distance. *they have Tropicana OJ on sale every week. and my DH drinks OJ like it's going out of style! *when they have a sale on Tide, Charmin, Bounty, other house hold items, they're even cheaper than discount stores. that's when I stock up. *They accept competitor coupons from King Kullen, so I save an additional $5-$10 every week just using those. *I also get a lot of drug store items there. Again, when they have stuff on sale, it’s a good sale! What I find pricey at S&S is the produce.
I guess it all depends what you shop for.
yes you're right when they run sales on bounty, charmin, or even water and soda - you can get good deals. But otherwise their regular food items I find to be more. They always have items on sale 2 for $5 but if I go to Pathmark I'll see the SAME item on sale for $1.89 instead. Their produce is def more $$$, I never buy produce from there unless I really need too.
There is a store called H-Mart in Williston Park (not sure if they have other locations) but it has the freshest fruits, vegetables, and fish for much less. They also specialize in Asian food items. The store is also always well stocked and clean and the cashiers are sooo fast that you never wait in line for too long even if it's busy.

Re: where do you
Depends on which direction we need to head in.
King Kullen or Stop & Shop because they carry Boars Head cold cuts.
King Kullen is pricey, but they double dollar coupons (which most stores only double up to $.99). We are big coupon cutters, so this def. helps us.
We comparison shop a lot too between King Kullen, Stop & Shop & Waldbaums. Waldbaums has some good sales sometimes, 10 items for $10, etc.

Re: where do you
Greenfield's Shoprite. There are two stores right by me. I love this place.
I also like Fairway, but Shoprite has most everything they have at about the same prices. So if I can't get to Fairway, I'm ok.
I go to Trader Joe's for certain things.

I shop at Stop & Shop and Costco mostly with an occasional trip to Shop Rite. I play something called the Grocery game so I save a lot of money on groceries. It helps me effectively clip coupons.
www.grocerygame.com
e.t.a. if you want a referral, please fm me. I think you get a free trial with the referral.
I agree with you. I had to go this week and I got nothing and spent more money than usual.

I find Stop and Shop to be expensive.
I try to do grocery shopping at Shoprite in Plainview when I am there visiting my Dad. The same exact order is at least 20% less than Stop and Shop.
That type of price difference is on so many things we buy so I try not to go to S&S.
Same here!! Stop & Shop is closer to me but I will drive to the Shoprite in Plainview I feel like I get more for my money there. When I go to Stop&Shop I feel like I get less bags of groceries for the same price LOL.

Re: where do you
Waldbaum's is definitely the cheapest. Stop & Shop is not bad either. I really like King Kullen. I know it is more expensive, but, the store I shop in is very clean and the shelves are always stocked.

Re: where do you
Waldbaums, S&S or Pathmark
Farm stand for produce
Whole Foods or Trader Joes when I'm in the area for specialty items I like.
Costco every other month
Best Yet is in East Northport. Pat's Meat Farm is also in the area which has great deli. They are near my mom - I wish they were closer to me
