you were pregnant, did you tell your family immediatly or wait a while? DH and I are planning to tell our immediate family probably around 11 or 12 weeks then everyone else shortly after.

The next month or two is going to be looong.

We told my parents after the first beta both times. This time around there wasn't as much excitement because of the m/c. I just couldn't keep it from my mom. DH called and told his parents (they are OOT) after we saw the heartbeats.

We told our parents and siblings at 9 weeks, after our first sonogram. We told extended family and friends at 12 weeks after our ultrascreen appt.

We told our parents 3 days after we found out....We told the rest of our family around 6-7 weeks........

Well, I wasn't planning on telling anyone until after the first trimester, but my hormones got the best of me. We visited my family about a week after I got a BFP. I went out to lunch with my mom and she asked me when we thought we might start TTC. I told her that I didn't want to tell her about our plans b/c she can't keep a secret. She then promised she wouldn't say anything. I totally threw her off guard and announced I was pregnant.

I'm really glad we told our families earlier than we planned. It was nice to talk to them about it and share the excitement. Plus, if something had gone wrong, I would've wanted their support.

No, I had a m/c after my first IVF in March. The second time we didn't even tell them I was doing another IVF. We told our families that I was pregnant after seeing the heartbeat.

Like SweetTooth said, there wasn't too much excitement because of the previous m/c.

We told our parents after the 8 week ultrasound when we saw the heartbeat. We have told a few close friends but we have yet to tell co-workers and most of our friends. We will probably share our news after getting our ultrascreen test results back.

I told my mom at about 5 weeks because she knew I was seeing an RE and was expecting me to have a bunch of tests-- luckily for me, I didn't need to have any tests done because I basically got pregnant right before my first appt. She asked me when I was doing the tests-- so, I basically just blurted out that I didn't need to.

We told my dad, my bro and DH's family on Father's Day, which I was about 7 or 8 weeks then.

we told them after our first doc apt (so 7 weeks). We only told close family & friends. The rest (ie friends, work ,etc) we waited until 12 weeks.

With both DS and this baby, we told immediate family right away. We waiting until 11 weeks to tell extended family/friends with DS. With this baby, close friends know but no one else.

As soon as the second line appeared, I was on the phone with my mother, who then started jumping up & down & screamed to my father & sister. We told his parents around 7 weeks. Then we told my brothers & my aunt (who I'm close to) around 8 weeks. Everyone else has found out in the last few days since we've now heard & seen the heartbeat. I'm 11 weeks.

edited to add: told my sis, BFF (Kris516) and my cousin the day i got BFP. The 3 of them have been thru the journey w. me the whole time. I couldnt wait to tell them

We told our immediate family at 5 weeks...I told my best friend the day I took the test (but my family doesn't know!).

We started telling friends sporadically over the first trimester, but the majority of them (and the rest of the family) found out around 12-13 weeks.

I think I told all my close family and friends. I was too excited and I couldn't wait! I'm not big into supperstitions.
