Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
Apparently not at 24 weeks!
Oh I have lots of ideas and the furniture is ordered but the room is filled with "stuff" and until we get more finished with our kitchen relocation, it's barely a thought in our minds!

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
we had to start in stages....
we first had to clean out our basement to make room for the stuff IN the 'sports room - soon to be nursery' to go down there....so now that is DONE, because my wonderful husband ROCKS (he finished it as a surprise to me last Friday)....
Now - we will start boxing up the stuff in the sports room and get it downstairs. Dave figures he can get this done in two of his days off....i'm not holding my breath....but he SHOCKED me Friday - so who knows!

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
We have to clean out our office which also has the ironing board and a small dresser of mine (and the closet has my work clothes).
We started cleaning desk files and bought a file cabinet to put in the basement, so that should really be done (but I've been too lazy to bring the stuff downstairs). My dresser is almost cleared out ... picking up some small storage boxes from Target at lunch). The closet is another story - ALL MY SHOES!!
We are not painitng but DH will be putting up wainscotting, hopefully in the next month or so since we are ordering the crib this weekend and I def want that done before the crib arrives.

Believe me - that is NOT like him - it shocked me and made me cry....
I do think on some level, him doing it himself gives him the freedom to put things where HE wants them.
Whenever i clean out let's say our coffee table, he'll be like - did you throw away anything of mine? My answer is always the same - we've been together for (insert years here) 7 years now and i know by NOW what to keep and what to toss of yours TURDBRAIN!

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
My DH has started moving some stuff to the basement that was in that room (mostly working out stuff that he'll use in the basement now)
He used painters tape to tape off the walls.....and he is planning on getting paint & painting this weekend....We might change the light fixture in there too in the next couple of weeks, but besides that not much else....I don't know when we'll buy the crib....or if we should wait for the shower
I"m due in July

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
I will start to pick out the paint within the next month but really won't start doing stuff till May. My brother is a painter so when he has down time I will get him to get the painting out of the way.

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
We ordered the furniture a few weeks ago at about 22 weeks. My DH cleared out the room and painted this week and I am almost 26 weeks. The only other thing we need to do is put in a new closet system in the baby's closet in that room.
ETA: We did have to do a lot of clearing things out and reorganizing things in other parts of the house too which we started doing at around 21 weeks.

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
Our furniture came in at 15 weeks, so we set that up right away.
The rest of the nursery (closet, paint, etc.) we didnt start until 19 weeks. And the paint we're still waiting to do until Monday when we find out the sex.

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
For the time being, until we move into a bigger place this little girl will be staying in our bedroom. I figure after the shower we will start to rearrange things. We're already talking about where to put everything. For us it's more of a space issue.

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
We started clearing out the nursery room, building a closet organizer, and painting around 28 weeks. I didn't want to earlier than that becuase of my own superstitions. Our furniture will be delivered at 34 weeks.

I beat you... over 30 weeks and only thing we did was clear out the office and started tearing down the walls. DH is going to dormer the room and add a closet, but he's been so busy with work. THe good part is we're not having a baby shower so no rush

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
We just moved into a house that needed some work so we started on the nursery early...at like 15w. My DH began by making the closet larger, adding crown moulding, new windows and trim and we had the floors re-finished. We finished painting last weekend. We still need to install the ceiling fan and closet fixtures and door. We havent ordered furniture yet (at 23w) but plan to in the next week or 2. We were basically renovating the entire room so we started early.

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
I'm 22 weeks and I'm just now starting to plan it out. We picked a paint color last night and my DH and his dad are doing some of the actual work next weekend.
Still lots to do but plenty of time to do it

Re: when do you start working on the nursery?
We have started already. I am 18.5 weeks but just clearing stuff out of the room we are going to turn into the nursery. We are going to start painting at the end of next month and then after that start furnishing. We are kind of picking at it right now. We already picked out the colors 2 months ago, light beige since it is gender neutral and will go with anything and brighten the room.
