When did you tell?

I am at 4-5 weeks .. we are having a huge family party this weekend & my husband wants to make the annoucement ... how soon did you guys tell? I am on the fence about it

I was 6 weeks when we told parents and siblings.

11 weeks when we told all extended family.

Told our immediate family at 8 weeks. Told everybody else at 12 weeks.

Work and extended family after our 3mo sonogram.

7 weeks when we told parents and then 12 weeks everyone else... :)

last pregnancy we told everyone and their mothers as soon as we got the bfp...only to have to retract days later when I had a miscarriage. It was hard.


This time we really did not tell many people. My mom knows, my SIL, and a few close friends. I will tell more people at the end of the first trimester this time.

our parents when we were 5 weeks.

Close friends and family around 8 weeks

immediate supervisor and manager at work at 9 weeks

my co-workers 11 weeks

Everyone else within another week or two

I told my mom the day I took the test. The rest of the family and I would say around 6 to 8 weeks. I can't keep a secret.

we told parents as soon as we found out, grandparents and sisters at 5 1/2 weeks, and friends after our ultrasound at 8 weeks. we were too excited to hold it in anymore!!

now at 11+ weeks, everyone at work knows.

As soon as I got my BFP I told all my friends and family. I just recently told work people at 12 weeks

to me, I just cant keep something like that from the people that I love. GOD FORBID something was to happen I would want their suport anyway

I was going to wait until I was released from my RE to tell family - would have been 9.5 weeks. I accidentally blew it and told my mother and sister. Since my mom knew, I felt it only right to tell my ILs. All siblings on both sides of my family knew within days of telling our parents. They were given the green light to share at 12 weeks.

As far as friends go, people closest to us knew pretty early on. Everyone else can guess on their own. People have asked friends of mine behind my back thinking they would spill it. Fortunately, I chose trustworthy people to share with.

I had never planned on saying anything before the 3 month mark. After conceiving our son while we were planning our wedding - we ended up telling everyone about 2 months in since we changed our wedding date.

With DD - Told immediate family at 6 weeks for christmas since we were struggling with INF issues and gave our families a nice christmas present. A few close friends found out that early as well. Everyone else found out at 3 months

Any future pg's - 3 months

With DS, we found out right before out wedding so we told family and very close friends right away.

Everyone else (friends, extended family, work) knew at 11 weeks.

For future pregnancies, we'll probably follow the same plan.

immediately... it was kind of hard because we found out the same weekend that my aunt passed away and one of my cousins is a nurse and saw it in my face when we were at the funeral. we had of course already told my mom and grandparents on the side right before then but couldn't hide it once my cousin saw me, I was about 3-4 weeks.

We did the same we told everyone right away as soon as I got the results from the BFP. We couldnt hold it in. I have to agree this was very hard to retract and Tell others i had a MC. At work i still am convinced people think im preg. Cuz they keep asking .. "how you feeling.. any sleepless nites yet. and of course they are standing in the front of nurses station and say what do you mean.. and i tell them OH i had a MC talk aabout the FOOT TO mouth.

I told my mom right after we got a bfp and we told dh parents 3 weeks later on Christmas. told our siblings after our first appt 7wks. Then friends around 10 weeks - work 14 weeks.

1st time around i told my brother about 45 minutes after we took the test bc he stopped by and i was in shock. my mom at around 8 weeks and the rest of our family around 9 or 10 weeks.
this time around we told my family around 4 and a half weeks or so and then told his family and our friends around 6 weeks or so.
