When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
I'm registering now and wondering if I should bother putting the convertible on there if I won't be using it for quite some time.
When did you make the switch?

I would put the convertible on now. More then likely you will be switching around 6-12 months. Even though infant seats can go up to 30/35 pounds for weight most only go to 28/30 /32 inches for height (I think some even state 1" below top of seat) so if you have a tall baby you might have to switch because of that.

Re: When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
10 months I didn't register for the convertible because I.didn't want to.have to.store it and I wanted to see if anything new came out by the time we were ready for it...which it did actually

When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
DS 1 - 10 months DS 2 - 7 months
My infant seat was the snugride 22. I know people with the 35 who have theit kids in longer.
We registered.but didn't get it. It was better because a newer model had come out in the interim.

When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
Still have not switched at 7.5 months. I have a keyfit 30... So 30lbs or 30inchs. Dd is tiny... Only like 26 inches and she'll never reach that 30lbs. I plan on keeping her in it through this winter and then switch it out.
I did get a convertible at my shower that has been in storage for when were ready. One less thing that I have to put money aside for

Re: When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
DS is 5 months and about 15lbs. We have the Graco Snugfit 35. So it goes up to about 35lbs. So we are going to change him over probably in the Spring. I would put it on your registry. I did and I didnt get it so its one more added expense that we have been saving for since we need 2 seats.

When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
I switched at 4 months. We did not get one for our shower. We ended up trying a few in our cars to see which fit the best.

We switched our older son at 18 months. Our younger son is just 14 months and he is still in the infant seat, though we will probably need to switch him soon.

6 months. The infant carrier was just too heavy and hard to get into the car after a while.

When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
10 months. We actually only registered for the Britax Marathon and used a Graco Snugride that a friend gave to us.

Re: When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
@ 9 months but that was only bc our seat only went up to 22 lbs. If it went up to 35 I would have kept it longer bc the convertible seems so big and bulky in the car, obviously I would just leave it in the car and not carry him at that weight though
For #2 I plan on getting an infant seat that goes to 35 lbs for this reason.

Re: When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
my twins will be 16 months this week and are still in their infant seats. They are very tiny though.
we did register for them, because we didn't want to have to worry about the cost x2 when the times came.

Re: When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
Switched at 8 months but I would not register for it yet because car seats have expiration dates and if you get it now, chances are it was manufactured a few months ago and then by the time you use it, you will have lost a year's use of it. Also, I had a better idea of what I wanted/needed by the time I wanted to switch.

Re: When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
Definitely register for it. It's expensive. And DD was very long so she came out of the infant bucket at 6 months. It was nice to know we had it already and didn't have to shop around for one.

Re: When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
If you are registered at buy buy baby they have a great return policy you can easily exchange a car seat after several months.

When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
I didn't register for one. DD is 8 months and I'm just now trying to pick one out. I read so many reviews online about people returning them bc they don't like it or it doesn't fit their car well. I wouldn't want to have one sitting around for months just to find out I need to return it, especially if you're registered at BRU. If you're not that picky and space isn't an issue, then you may want to consider it bc they are so expensive.

Re: When did you switch from infant seat/carrier to convertible?
DS is 10 months and he is still in his infant seat. He was a preemie so he's small. He's only about 16-17 lbs right now. We'll probably be switching soon though. I registered for it for my shower and got it. My parents have been storing it, but we'll have to buy another one for my parents car.
